1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

Herrera's a good player who probably deserved to get out of Atletic a few years ago. He's a good talent. Was called up to Spain's provisional 30 too.

So, the question is whether the United States or Ghana will pay for 10 seconds of crap play.

The ESPN commentators would have American audiences know that Bradley is really awesome. I mean, he's been mildly disappointing and exhibited just a few lapses, but that hardly detracts from his general awesomeness.

Germany and USA advance. Ronaldo finally contributes a goal when his team is basically done and helps the USA. I'll take it. Tim Howard looked great.

Well congrats USA. Could have got interesting there if Ronaldo had buried that chance right after he scored for 2-1.

Dauda did well blocking another great Ronaldo opportunity. Made up for after he botched that goal, not sure why he did not just catch it.

Feel for CR7 (as much as one can say that and mean it). Two dismal showings at consecutive WCs and he'll be 33 or so in the next one - definitely not the force of nature he's been in league ball over the past few years.

US played like shit. Glad they advanced, but they played like shit.

I thought they did impressively for most of the first half and got gassed. But agree that the second half was very disappointing. Still a long way to go before we can expect to consistently reach the quarters

i'd feel bad for him too if he didn't think he was a gift to humanity. i guess all that arrogance wasn't enough to overcome his own mortality. given the runs of injuries past few seasons i doubt he can carry the team through the next Euros either. and this cements his place outside of the list of world's best ever. Real will surely now fly the banner of that northern ape !

Group H is so weak, you can probably advance to quarters.
Disappointed to see both Germany and Brasil in France table, the other half table looks definitely easier.

I laughed out loud when I read this tweet:
We advanced like true Americans. With a subpar performance and outsourcing the hard work to a foreign country.

Gonna head to a bar to watch the Korea - Belgium game. Will need some beer to wash down the nearly inevitable defeat / exit from the tourney.

Probs Russia/Algeria. Either team can advance from that game. Belgium already have it locked up and SK suck, tbh.

I'd say belgium, but this is the weakest group, all the teams pretty much suck.

Listen...they advanced and that is all well and good.

But they lost the game and played like shit IMO. I have been watching the news seeing bars/cities in the US cheering as if WE played our way in TODAY. We didn't!
If getting to this round was the goal, then ok. But if they REALLY want to make some noise, they better step up their game!

Quite often group stage performance and final results in knockout bear no resemblence. It starts all over on Saturday. So enjoy the fact you guys are there.

My head says Belgium is still stronger but not willing to put money on it.
