Can people please, please, please use spoilers and stop reposting entire long posts with (useless) one line replies... it really ruins threads.

I never really have a bad buy as I do quite some extensive research, and then decide over a few weeks to months whether I'll make the purchase or not, sales help too.

    2013 Good purchases

    TOJ 4zip Motto
Converse all stars white low top - summer casual shoes
    Church's chelsea boots
    Uniqlo heat tech shirts
Converse all stars black high top - fall shoes for every other day
    Buttero side zips
    Alden Black Indy boots
Dents Harris Tweed/Deer Skin leather/cashmere gloves
    Margiela navy overcoat
Begg and Co. plain derby grey scarf

The one underwhelming purchase, but still happy I bought it
VOIDTHEBRAND crinkled beanie - I don't know if its meant to be the way it is, but for $48 dollars, I really expected better quality, a beanie picked up at the dollar store is made better than this thing. The beanie was so flimsy and the stitching holding onto the two layers were starting to come detached after simply trying the beanie on delicately. So much for Made in the U.S.A.

    2014 Wish list

Maybe three or four more pima tshirts in black, white, and navy from Uniqlo
    Some more uniqlo airism shirts
    White jack purcells
    Navy blue Converse all stars
What ever catches my attention from S.E.H. Kelly
A cool jacket from Arc'teryx Veilance
Maybe the new black Seque tote from Arc'teryx Veilance - available at Barneys for preorders as I type this
PBJ NC Black and Indigo jeans
Possibly a pair of Heschung black Panax boots if they'll be available
Dents black leather gloves line in rabbit fur/cashmere
A new bag, hopefully Mismo will come out with one that isn't in some ridiculous color/fabric choice
Knits from Inis Mein and SNS Herning
    MMM Side zips in black
    A drawing tablet?

To be honest, although I trimmed down, I spent a fortune on what I Did buy in 2013, not all of it perfect

Going shopping/Kopping today (Tuesday)....hoping for a couple of inexpensive shirts (TMLewin) to balance out the cost of the 2 bespoke ones I've ordered and also hoping to trade 3 old rings towards a gorgeous second hand one I found online.

Spending the rest of the year paying off one of my credit cards so that I can complete my wishlist with a clearer conscience next year (ex partner left me with a large pile of credit cards and overdraft to pay off, plus I still shop!):D

Once all that's done I'll start writing next years list as an incentive to pay off a card with high interest..

I purchase no more than 5 pieces each season. So basically 10 pieces per year. Basics stuffs tee shirt, OCBD, flannel, raw denim, beater sneakers don't count. Accesories don't count either unless they cost more than normal (e.g. wallet)

    FW13
    - Bee Cardigan
    - Ervell field coat
    - SLP wallet
    - TOJ BCDR

    Bad purchase
    - Buttero sidezip - great boots, but not for me.

    SS14 plan
    - SS knit, gonna be pullover this time
    - Waterproof outerwear. Perhaps W+H or Ervell
    - Paul Smith Cesar cap toe boots if they are still there at 50% off

and many more, can't say for now

I have to echo this, for essentially the same reasons. I sold mine. I'm also going in a different direction with my wardrobe too, but even still, these shoes just never measured up to what I imagined they'd be in terms of getting any heavy rotation. Bought a matching belt too, which now I'm not going to use. Probably worst purchase of 2013 despite being arguably a fantastic item.

    Best purchases:

N&F "Super Skinny Guy" 12oz Stretch Selvedge Denim in Indigo

Perfect fit, perfect feel right off the bat.

    Epaulet Navy/Red Gingham Flannel

perfect flannel shirt as far as I am concerned. haven't wrestled a bear yet while wearing it, but plan to.

    Nigel Cabourn sweater

Reedo was stupid enough to part with this amazing sweater. Colors are not done justice in this product shot. Was eyeing similar sweaters for months on the Drake's webstore when Reedo decided to put this one up for sale. Jumped on it. No regrets.

    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Planned purchases for 2014:

    1. Rivet chino in black

    2. Alden chukkas

    3. Alfred Sargent derbies

also plan to get loose-fitting linen pants for summer in beige/tan and black. open to suggestions; will probably just go with H&M though unless there's something amazing that strikes my fancy.

and generally, more black items, more plain white/blue shirts. maybe a black knit tie. probably some better black belts than what I have currently (dress and casual).

Didn't buy a ring (couldn't choose one), bought 2 double cuff shirts (see recent purchases for pic)

Resisted new biker and boots for the moment until ring chosen and bespoke shirts paid for...:):)

Best 2013 purchases: Roberto Collina sweater and a chunky knit cardigan, SLP sneakers, Hand knit scarf from a French label I can't recall and Frank Leder Linen shirt. Worst 2013 purchases has been either returned or sold so no regrets there. For 2014, I have my eyes set on a Herringbone/tweed slim blazer, no specific label in particular yet. SLP jodhpurs boots in black and one of the fine umbrellas that NMWA stocks...

PS. 2014 purchase thus far : Big John slim tapered black denim from NMWA....:slayer:

Feel pretty good about my buys in 2013 overall. Definitely bought less than most seasons but kept more which is a positive sign.

    Good Buys:

Schneider Wick Coat- Definitely one of my favorite purchases of the year. Grabbed this off suspension point and there's so many ways to wear it and it's also surprisingly warm. Fabric is some of the softest wool I've ever handled.

    Schneider honeycomb scarf
    [IMG]

Geller Petrol Denim- Got this of B&S and these have basically gone to my go-to pair of denim. The fit is awesome, and despite how skinny they are actually really comfortable.

Silent by DD sneakers- got these at a great price for ~100 bucks and been wearing the hell out of these ever since I got them and they've been holding up really well actually. Leather has a really cool broken up and textured effect (hard to tell from the picture) that has smoothed out a little but is one of those subtle details that make these one of my favorite pruchases
    [IMG]

Guidi Lambskin boots- Couldn't find a picture of these but an awesome pair of dark green boots I picked up off sufu. The lambskin is really soft and comfortable, and molds really easily.

    Good Buys, Needs more wear

Dries Van Noten Knit- really cool dries knit that has a very subtle camo effect in the fabric in person too. Just wish it was a little bit warmer, the fabric is really breathable so it's hard to wear on colder days
    [IMG]

wool Bless Hooded Coat- Was a grail of mine but unfortunately not getting very much wear and I already have too much black outerwear. I might end up letting it go on B&S if I can't find a better spot for it in my wardrobe

    Looking to cop for 2014

    Black Guidi backzips or similar
    Raf Velcro Hi-tops
    Schneider merino coat
    KKA Coat
    Some cool button up shirts

Wings + Horns black high tops
    Inverallan 6A
    Painted GATs
    EG Andover
    Tech Fleece

    The Bad
Still trying to sell off a lot of mis-sized purchases and workwear.

    Favourite Purchases:

Remi Relief Indigo Border Stripe Cardigan.
Had to size up two from an M to an XL! But! Instant love... :]

    Stephan Schneider Chandler Jacket
    [IMG]
Gorgeous fabric. Love how the zip gives it a bit of a biker feel.

    Kapital Kilim Button Scarf:
Kinda like throwing on a cool collar over your jumper.

    LVC 1960s Tshirt:
Awesome colour selection. Makes up for LVC's surprisingly average construction.

    Also worthy of note:
Stephan Schneider Cardigan Jacket, LVC Bay Meadows Tshirt, Folk People Cardigan, MHL Long-sleeve tshirt
and trousers, Chamula scarf ($7! Bless Cyber Monday), Pendleton cotton vest.

    The Bad:
    APC Framboise Brushstroke Tshirt
    (Total impulse. Bah.)

    Future:
-Would love get more Kapital and Remi Relief, but always going to be a bit of a lottery sizing things bought via proxy from Japan.
-Curious about Sasquatchfabrix, Engineered Garments, Unused, etc, but also cheaper stuff like Denim & Supply.
-Need some new trainers--my Spring Courts are starting to fall apart. Probably pick up some slip-ons, some other plimsoles, maybe some GATs.
    -Some plain black boots.
    -A new bag.
    -Some workwear shirts.
    -Some light blue jeans.
-Some kind of big parka-esque winter coat thing.

    Favourites:

    Raf Simons Black Blazer

Got this in a forum trade (Glad you enjoyed the bomber cyc). I enjoy going into my wardrobe, pulling it out, trying it out and then putting it back. Never worn out once but I can't bear to part with it...

    Poeme Hoodcoat

Also acquired in a trade, got it right on time for a trip to Beijing where it was worn daily in the freezing cold.

    Best:

    Ann Sweatpants

Ridiculously comfortable to wear around the house and came in handy overseas when i realize i had forgotten my gym gear. Gets the most wear out of everything I own.

    Worst

Beanies. I have accrued a collection of 20+ beanies and have yet to find something that will fit my enormous head.

kopped like 4-5 rlbl shirts, couple rlbl pants, and two rlbl jackets... and a ton of pure shit. seriously wasted like 2k on shit i will never wear again. don't even want to think about it.

    2014:

so far i kopped a pair of lanvins (the suede with patent captoe) and two pairs of SLP jeans. i'd like to buy another 5-6 RLBL shirts, and 1-2 more pants. i wanna get the perfect sweatshirt, and get another nice hoodie (dsquared? balmain? dolce & gabbana?). also wanna kop another pair of lanvins, a pair of SLP sneakers, and a pair of dunks. oh and a pair of dsquared sneakers. and finally i want to kop a rick leather, and a pair of rick shorts, and another nice pair of sweatpants (rick? dsquared?).

basically i think i need like 6-7k budgeted for this year's clothing extravaganza but that's what credit cards are for amirite???

I joined SF in late 2011 but 2013 ended up being when I finally found out what 'my look' was. Still figuring out lots of things but hoping to use 2014 to check out different brands (dries, raf, rick, etc) and learn more about fashion history and theory.

    Good:
Schneider Bee (amazing, used as layer under coat and it got me through the worst winter ever in MN history)
    Geller flight pants
    Silent leather bomber
    COS wool jacket
    Nike flyknit
    Acne sweatpants

    Bad:
MMM sidezips (bought two different pairs and just couldn't get the sizing right)
    Barena linen sweatshirt
    MOMA derbies
Silent "cropped" cardigan (nice and warm, but the sleeves are really slim...yoox roulette...i still kept it)

    Mediocre:
Peir Wu cardigan coat (coat is fine, hard time working it into my wardrobe)
Silent tempori sweatshirt (a little small in the shoulder and too lightweight for F/W)
Ervell quilted sweatshirt (not what I was expecting but decent piece)

    Future:
Paint splatter Margiela gats for S/S
    Dries blazer for S/S
    COS jersey pant for S/S
Jacket for S/S (probably something cheap from uniqlo)
    Margiela tees for S/S
Schneider jogging pant for F/W (pre-order)
    Schneider cardigan for F/W (pre-order)
