1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

    Cheers,

That's right- it's for the entire year! The challenge is to make do with what you have, and still post up quality WAYWTs. Does anyone here have the sheer will and fortitude to participate??
    :decisions:

I'm in, and I'm fairly certain I can last until at least Black Friday.

Edit: Title edited for greater realism.

I'm almost on board. I'm going to attempt no unplanned purchases this year. I have plenty to get by on so I probably should do this....but I've already picked out three things from SS12 that I want and I'm giving myself one more freebie. So 4 items all year, 3 are already chosen. We'll see if I can stick to it.

^ yeah....January I can handle easy enough...but a full 12 months would be an accomplishment.

I have a feeling zissou may be an rolling solo on this....I don't see many SFer being able to tackle this one. Hell, even zissou only thinks he'll last until black Friday.

I might be able to sign for a "no impulse buy" club, but I have some planned purchases...

yes, really. I looked through my closet at the barely worn clothes, and through it should be no problem.

I actually plan on reading the Official Sales Alert Thread daily to see just how strong I can be.

I wish I could tell that's the first time someone has shaved my likeness onto their head.

You do realize that's eleven months into the year, right?

    Five days down so far!

Yeah, I think 11 months would be one hell of an accomplishment (and I'll be very impressed by anyone on here who achieves such a level of restraint)....but it's still not the full 2012 year that is the stated goal of the thread. That last month is the toughest in my opinion as all the FW stuff starts going on sale and getting really cheap. I know I tend to buy way more FW stuff than I do SS.

I'm just giving you a hard time, I think it's a great thing to strive for even if you don't think you'll be able to carry through 100% of the way.

I signed up for the January one and I'm already having trouble with that...couple of shirts I've been wanting for a while are for sale real cheap on the sales forum....but I'm holding back, I'll make it through January at least. Taking it one month at a time for now.

    ^weakling!

I know what you mean. SS for me is jeans, t shirts, and a few shirts. FW, on the other hand, has an endless possibility of knits, outerwear, boots, etc. I try not to live by too many absolutes, but we'll see how far this goes...
