Rough second half for Georgia so far. Really regretting those two dropped TDs in the first half now.

Whatever LSU said during half time must have worked.

Very, very little doubt. The thing that I most dislike about the rematch scenario is that if Alabama beats LSU, especially if it's close, I still think LSU is the best team this year. I've seen both teams play a lot of games, and there's really no question in my mind that LSU is the best team in the country this year.

I've also found the "big" SEC matchups this year to be some of the most boring football games of the year, and I'm not particularly looking forward to another one.

I'm pretty sure Ok State is trying to make a case that they deserve a shot against LSU. 44-3 at the end of the 3rd, damn.

It will be a complete travesty, after this showing by OSU, if it's not LSU-OSU.

Especially after Dont'a Hightower said something like, "Yeah, it's nice to know we're going to the BCS without having to play this weekend. We need the rest."

Screw that, Dont'a: you lost the chance to play this weekend, in your own house.
OSU didn't lose that chance and made the most of it tonight.
Rest all you want, but you do not deserve to be in the BCS title game, period.

Yeah I think OK state did what they needed to do to make the title game. I expected them to win but I didn't expect a beatdown like this one.

OSU is getting hosed for sure. The SEC starting sucking off the media years ago so that things would go their way in situations like this. As such, it's considered a given that Bama will get a rematch even though they've beaten 2 ranked teams to OSU's 5, didn't win their conference championship and lost in their own house to LSU.

    That's the BCS for you.

I'm assuming we have to wait for the big "BCS Extravaganza" show tonight.

    My Bowl Picks:

Rose: Oregon (Pac12 Champion) vs. Wisconsin (Big 10 Champion) (this one is actually contractually committed under the BCS Agreement)

Fiesta: Stanford (At Large) vs. Virginia Tech? (At Large)

Sugar: Alabama (At Large) vs. TCU (Non-AQ Auto Invite)

Orange: Clemson (ACC Champion) vs. West Virginia (Big East Champion)

Championship Game: LSU (BCS #1) vs. Oklahoma State (BCS #2)

This is a pretty tough exercise this year. Working with the constraints that a conference can only send two teams to the five games, AND the number of non-AQ teams in the pool (which are unlikely to get picked, though Boise State deserves it ahead of say, Kansas State), it's slim pickings to find 10 worthy teams. It's a given that Stanford and Alabama will go as at large teams (IF Alabama doesn't go to the title game). TCU will likely move up two slots to #16, which will ensure them of a spot - and they're probably not a bad pick for the Sugar Bowl. The Orange bowl gets stuck with the Big East Champion this year because they pick last. Which leaves that one "At Large" bid for the Fiesta - I'm throwing Virginia Tech in there only because I can't find anybody better:

Virginia Tech (just got destroyed by Clemson, but might not fall far enough to knock themselves out)
Houston (non-AQ, lost this week and will probably drop below #14)
Boise State (Maybe a contender for the spot)
Arkansas (Can't have 3 teams from any conference)
Oklahoma (just got abused by OSU, probably will drop below #14)
Kansas State (has to be a contender here, only losses to OU and OSU)
South Carolina (Can't have 3 teams from any conference)
Michigan State (Lost yesterday, won't be Top 14)
Michigan (Currently #16, if they can move up two slots, they'd be eligible)
Baylor (Currently #17, just beat Texas, might be attractive to the Fiesta Bowl)

yeah... the weasels... errrrr... wolverines would be a good pick because the fans haven't spent any money on bowl travel in 7 years.... they will be ready to spend.

Michigan / Stanford would be a pretty appealing bowl from a ticket sales + marketing perspective, and probably a pretty terrible game. It would probably also have the added benefit of antagonizing the Rose Bowl by daring to stage a "Classic" Pac 8 vs. Big 10 matchup.

If things were equitable (which we know they are not), Stanford should play Boise State (almost definitely the best eligible team). I have mixed feelings about Virginia Tech - on the one hand, they just got destroyed by Clemson, but on the other, it's hard to penalize teams who lost their Conference Championship games while rewarding teams that sat on the couch and watched conference championship games (though Stanford is in that category...).

I root for TCU but I think Baylor gets in before they do, coming off that big win against Texas. That home loss to SMU sticks out like a sore thumb. Baylor lost one more but they also beat Oklahoma (who, if you remember, entered the season at #1) and, of course, TCU.
