Good ol' ESPN. This is probably leading their news coverage, or coming immediately after an analysis and discussion of Tebow's facial expressions from this Sunday.
Yeah, he got a dui and tried to give the cop a fake name. Did the people who judge stuff like this actually ever attend/enjoy college? Or are they just conveniently forgetting their own shenanigans? But I suspect this won't be the last time Greg Reid gets arrested. He's not really a disciplined individual.
I think Duke fans are the only people who don't think ESPN is out to get them.
eh, until someone outside the SEC actually does something football related that's worth a crap, we'll continue to hear nothing but tabloid news.
roll tide.
I probably am being "homer" guy, but two things really pissed me off:
1. ESPN would constantly harp on how bad FSU had gotten, how much our team had fallen off since 2001, calling us a "junior varsity team", doing annual articles on how Bobby Bowden has lost control of the program, etc. Then, when FSU actually kicked the old man out (after he kept postponing his retirement and really not doing much coaching), we got a month of hate and protestations of "how could FSU do this"? Even Gary Danielson, the same guy who made the "junior varsity" comment, was all over the airwaves saying Bowden should've been able to coach as long as he wanted to.
2. The same week Penn State's starting middle linebacker put his girlfriend in the hospital, and yet another Gator was arrested (which you had to dig down to find), ESPN put on the front of its website an article detailing how a fourth-string wide receiver (six passes caught in three years) had missed a court date (and was seen by a roomful of people taking a final exam at the time).
Juxtapose that with the fawning lovefest for Tim Tebow, the (until recently) absolute silence about UF leading the nation in arrests during the Urban Meyer era, and you get a lot of butthurt FSU fans.
this happens all the time to almost every school..............except Duke.
It really doesn't. There is a bunch (well not a bunch, but a non-unsubstantial amount) of chatter from journalists who are highly critical of ESPN's reporting methods and ethics. I'll have more to say later if I still care and have more time.
Georgia: Dawg fans believe every 18 year old running back that walks through the door is the next Herschel Walker. Also, they’re inbred. Georgia Tech is a much finer and cleaner school and their campus doesn’t have the aroma of cabbage and wet dog hair wafting through the air that Athens does. Mark Richt is the best coach they’ve had since Vince Dooley and they’ll probably run him out of town before season’s end. They should bring back Jim Donnan, oh wait, he’s accused of masterminding a Ponzi scheme! Like Florida, Georgia players also get arrested a lot, but it’s not national news because they’ve languished in mediocrity for the last few seasons, so nobody cares. Their live mascot is named UGA. They have a hard time keeping UGA alive. There’s a new UGA at least once a month. They currently have a temporary live mascot named Russ, as they scour the Earth to find the new UGA (when you think about it, aren’t we all “temporary”?). Russ will probably die before they replace him. It was nice knowing you, Russ. UGA the bulldog has become the drummer from Spinal Tap. **** Georgia.
