Not sure if I should cry for America or laugh at these dumb bimbos and those who view them as idols.

No way. The dumbest one was the one who said, "We should leave it to the government." [IMG] Also, the chick who went all Caitlin Upton on us and started talking about how we evolve as communities (She was also boanable, but at 27 is probably getting a little long in the tooth for these things.)

Knowing what we know of the beliefs of the American public at large, and knowing what we know of the preponderance of evangelicals in the pageant circuit, none of this is terribly surprising. But did anyone besides Miss Alabama actually say evolution shouldn't be taught?

I think she was the only one. She was pretty hot though.

I had to watch the clip in segments. The ignorance was hurting my brain too much. Couldn't take it in one setting. I strongly believe that evolution has failed when these women were conceived.

Miss North Carolina's body was obviously intelligently designed. Seriously, the way she moves... urgh...

I'm embarassed to say I'm even aware of the difference, but these are all Miss USA contestants, not Miss America contestants. Miss USA is basically a glorified beauty contest; Miss America, on the other hand, gets all the intellectual heavyweights.

This. And since when have the Q&A or "talent" portions of these pageants ever been more than cringeworthy side shows? Especially in Miss USA, of all pageants. Miss USA makes no pretence about being anything other than an unabashed beauty contest. I wouldn't really care if a Miss USA contestant were functionally illiterate and had an IQ just north of Rain Man's, so long as her tits were prime and her ass were choice. Take Caitlin Upton, for example. Sure, we can all have a good lul or two at her asinine response to the geography question. But what did we really expect from her? What does society really expect from her? Hint: two things, and they aren't the two hemispheres of her brain.
