I wouldn't say it was a movie about facebook at all. More like a very complicated, brilliant person and the rise of something that is shaping the future of our planet. I'd say that the subject matter is actually far more important than just a website. I liked the movie, but it was just too Aaron Sorkin. I ******* hate Aaron Sorkin. I have a fairly sharp memory and caught him stealing lines from his previous work... so lazy. He's absolutely obsessed with status and Ivy league schools and people who are incredibly intelligent and well aware of it. I don't think I've ever seen anyone else's work project so much of what they wish they were. He's like a talented Connemara.

I enjoyed it a lot but it doesn't deserve any top awards.

You'll have to narrow it down a bit. He's as stiff as a corpse in most of his roles. His best work is on Letterman and on Demi Moore.

Exact same feeling here. When I try to describe my feeling about it, I say pretty much what BC2012 does. It was very enjoyable, solidly put together, very good acting, and a decent plot. Which makes it better than the majority of movies out there. But nothing super special, and in no way deserving of the ridiculous praise it gets. It's just the fact the setting is so different, people are all "OMG, dreams, it's deep!", they over-hype it.
