Hey gents

I have decided on selling two Oxxford double-breasted suits that I picked up from an estate sale last year. I had hoped to drop 25-30 pounds by the winter but I only lost about 10 and seem to be stuck. My wife agrees we need the closet space so unworn stuff has to go......

The suits have the same person's name and very close dates in Fall 1988. I imagine they were Made to Measure by a shop ("Family Britches") in New Canaan, upstate New York. They would be perfect for a size 44 imo, though the chest measures 23" across armpit-to armpit. (I am a 45" and they fit closely but comfortably, as I like a high armhole - some may prefer a looser fit.)

One, a "Heritage" model, is a slate grey/blue nailhead pattern, similar to the lovely color of Cary Grant's suit in "North by Northwest". The other, a "Mansion", is a classic dark navy with very faint grey chalkstripes widely spaced. The chalk stripe is slightly heavier fabric with a nice hand; it also fits just a tad snugger than the Nailhead. Both are more or less 10-month suits though the nailhead should be good in summer as well unless you are at the equator.

If you search on ebay under user name "taogp" you will find my auctions, running till Sunday 12/17/06. NOTE: the pics are atrocious; my digital camera seems to be on its last legs......pls email me for a better pic (i'll try) and take my word as a gentleman - they look a LOT better in person!

thankee!

I was going to do that at home tonight - too busy at work to do it all this morning.

I had better pics of the suits but the files got lost and I had to make do with those the other day.....My camera's button is sticking and the flash is doing crazy things...perhaps the wife (who bought me that first digital camera about 5-6 years ago) will pick up on my whining and get me a new one for Xmas or my b-day which is in Dec. (she likes the camera as it is a tool for selling on ebay....
