For me, I prefer three buttons rolled to two for everything.

Well that's a two button sb suit. The third button hole is just an effect no different from the button hole in the lapel. I have to say I've never really seen the point of it since it spoils cleaness of the lapel line but each to his own I guess. It's an effect btw that's pretty well unique to the US. I've never really seen it elsewhere other than very rarely and they were probably Americans in Paris, or London.

By your standards, isn't it a one button since the bottom button is also useless?

Well, that is how it is done all over Italy as well.

If I recall correctly, you are not a fan of 6x3 DBs - correct?

I find myself having very mixed feelings about them.

Perhaps. I don't pay much attention when I am not in a tailor shop, and Rubinacci does 3-2. I can't think of others off hand, but it is definitely not an "American only" thing.
