i have been concidering getting a db suit but i am have a tormented time in choosing a fabric.

i know i want it in a med-dark grey but i am not so sure as to which style of fabric.

thus i was hoping you chaps could share your veiws.

what i have in mind is..

prince of wales
chalk strip
windowpane
plain

or any other idea you might have will be more that welcomed!!

I think a wide (5/8-1") mid-dark grey chalkstripe looks smashing in DB and consider it a staple. The others would look great too. I personally like plaids and windowpanes in SB and chalkstripes in DB, though I do cross over.

i quite like the nail head idea i shall have to have a look at what they have when i go!

Presently, I like nail head with a windowpane. Like blue windowpane on grey nail head. Not hard to find in cloth sample books.

I agree about the chalkstripes, and about preferring windowpanes in SB. Both DB and windowpanes are relatively uncommon these days, and combining them only heightens the effect.

(Of course, who am I to talk .... My latest infatuation is the three-piece in windowpane.)
