Got my shirts yesterday. Washed, hand-ironed (in 27 minutes) and here it is:
The back looks big in the pictures - it is not. Especially with arms forward as if working at a desk. I think each cuff is 1/2" too big - my fault. I'm thinking of not making any further changes except cuff size. Comments?

Here's some pictures of Jantzen's construction detailing:
Notice the button home in the center of the stripe; you can barely tell the shirt does have a placket, the pattern is matched so well; the shoulders match the arm perfectly; the split yoke is nicely chevroned and perfectly matched; even the inside of the yoke is chevroned and pattern matched.

The waist looks big to my eye, but go with what's comfortable. I like the fabric a lot, how does it feel?

Wow! Do they come any better made than that? That's beautiful workmanship.

The fabric is JKT0010. It's one that costs slightly more. However, the increase in price is laughable compared to the luxurious feel. Someone else here had already posted this fabric (thread lost to hard-drive crash). It looked good enough then that I ordered one myself. The collar style is #28 - Italian full spread. It's not quite as wide as many use. I think its wide while still be fairly mainstream. Less fashion-forward, if you will.

As others have said - based on my experience now in the "jkt" line of fabric, I am now looking specifically to those fabrics for my next order.

Did anyone else see any obvious problems with sizing? Sleeve ok now? Shoulders? Chest?

I agree with the comments about arm holes and waist, and over time I may feel comfortable going slimmer. For now though, the shirt fits as snugly as I feel comfortable with. In any event - the comparison to even the best fitting OTR shirt is now laughable.

I have an archive of this thread.

Jantzen's fabric lists always look terribly confusing to me. How do you find them?

Very nice, I have to try them again after seeing that shirt. I ordered 3 shirts and each time I would hear the material sold out.

How do you know the price is greater, I didn't see anything like that on their site.

I have a shirt in that same fabric. Highly recommended. Looks good with that particular collar too. I think I did collar 4 on mine.

Just curious, how long from order entry to delivery? Did you order via his online site or via fax?

Ordered online. Followed-up via e-mail and then phone call. Time was slower this time: 1 month. Order in January only took 2 weeks.

He's currently closed to all internet/overseas orders. I'm guessing he just got too backed-up. Oh well - I've got a couple weeks to decide which fabrics/styles before reordering.

It looks a bit large to me and the sleeves look a bit long, but you're the one wearing it and you seem to understand the fit you're aiming for and the issues with this particular shirt.

I just picked up two MTM shirts from Brook's Brothers yesterday and wore one to the office today. They are far better than the Land's End shirts I've been wearing in terms of quality and fit. I'm thinking of sending one to Jantzen to have it copied now that I've zeroed in on the right fit. The fact that I can get MOP buttons and choose from a wider selection of materials is compelling. The wait is a major trade-off, especially since my cleaners closed indefinitely, entombing 4 of my shirts and I have been unable to contact them.

What I do is use the 'Find in Page' feature of the Firefox browser. So if I am searching for a particular fabric type I search on the fabric code.

Note that there are a number of different fabric pages so you'll have to
get to the correct one. For example, Dobby or Stripes.
