1980s television programs

I think that the 1980s was the peak for creative entertainment on television. A few of the shows I am thinking of are Alf, Greatest American Hero, Bosom Buddies and for some reason my personal favorite Small Wonder, which was a show I hated at the time. It seems as if the shows in the 1980s had more original plots then those on television now and probably would be considered ridiculous by many of the people who like to watch the current TV programming.

Many of these shows I forgot about and really bring back many great TV memories. Do you remember that show that was on Saturday morning about the family that went on a rafting trip and got stuck in a world with dinosaurs? I think it was called Land of the Lost. I wonder what happened to all of the creative geniuses who thought up these great shows.

They were killed and eaten by the folks who thought up "reality tv" and CSI: Hoboken.

I was hoping we could highlight 1980s live action shows in this thread rather than cartoons but I do agree that ThunderCats was a terrific program.

Yes, I don't know as I grow up if I agree with Alex P. Keaton's political views but I appreciate how he dressed.

Having grown up in the 80s, my opinion of that decade's television offererings is less than entusiastic. With a few exceptions (chief among them Late Night with David Letterman, the tail end of WKRP and Frank's Place), it was a TV wasteland.

I am really surprised to hear you say that. I feel that the 1980s were the golden years for television and I don't say that because of the Golden Girls, which was a show I didn't really like.
