Oh darn, it didn't look like nylon. I was hoping some kind of cool khadi fabric. Not a huge nylon fan, to be honest. I also didn't think the kurtas had stitchings across the chest like that.

I tried it on and the material is actually pretty cool, I'm just not a fan of the back length being a lot longer than the front. I think Antonio mentioned he used nylon so you could wear it hiking.

It can be both. Ripstop is how the material is woven in squares and most ripstop is made of nylon:
