Does the Elgin's fit differ a lot from the Gorecki? With the double weave jacquard they look very similar
I don’t have the Elgin’s but I have the Roy’s, which they are based on. The Roy’s have a straighter cut, where as the Gorecki’s taper.

No they’re very similar. The Roys were based on the Gorecki with the main difference being they don’t have a hem cinch (which allows you to taper the bottom if you want). I love a hem cinch and Samantha hates them. She designed these so she removed it. They also have a button front, fly and belt loops along with least in the waistband where the Gorecki is just elastic with a drawcord like sweats.

Any news of new Sam shirts coming? My sister is interested in 18East (especially the desi textiles) and worried about sizing - my XL looked one size too big on her, so I think I'd want to pick her up an L in something.

Can anybody speak to sizing / fit of the Kell compared to the vetti pant? Considering the new wool kell but torn between choosing a medium or a large. I noticed the kells have a slightly different waist sizing based in size charts.

For reference, i have the og black vetti in a medium and love the fit.

The Kell is based on the Vetti. You want the same size.

*The year is 2025, Mossrocks posts on StyleForum:*

"I just bought a pair of mud-cloth boro cargo pants to wear on a 3-week trip to Italy. In 2019, when we went, I alternated between a printed sahasika jacket and another in the same fabric in chocolate brown (I had the matching sahasika trousers as wayousechu suit separates -- wayousechu being the Japanese word for a "cohesion of East and West"). Sometimes I wore no outer layer but usually I did, as we mostly stayed around the towns and cities seeing museums, etc.

So mud-cloth cargo pants have a functional utility since they have lots of pockets (which a sahasika jacket is great for), but that isn't too military-inspired (Acronym's three-system drone parka is too much for me), rugged enough to wear with my Rick Owens Birkenstocks, and are machine washable (which my tailored trousers are very poor for). So I settled on these cargo pants for about $115."

LOL.

I'm going to make a calendar alert on Jan 1 2025 with this post in the notes, and see how close it is to how I dress!

The year is 2025.

Sadly I still don’t have a sweet 18E sahasika 😔 nor am I wearing mud cloth boro cargo pants lol. Hope springs eternal however!

How do you prefer trousers to be finished?

  • Plain hem

  • Cuffed (1.5 inches or less)

  • Cuffed (more than 1.5 inches)

  • No preference, as long as the proportions work
