I went TTS. For comparison, I sized down in the OG melton wool Lamar and regret it slightly. Still works ok (I think?) but I like the looser fit.

Yeah, the sized down Lamar looks excessively short on you.

I sized down on my Lamar (S down to XS) and I think the chest size is about perfect, but I do wish it had more length (mine end right at the knee) and the sleeves seem a tad skinny given the size of the rest of the coat. I wouldn’t change anything about it otherwise though.

eh I don't mind the length so much -- I'm tall, and I don't think it's designed to be a super long coat -- but wish I'd gone XL so I could layer chunky knitwear under it better

It’s funny, sitting on the couch in the studio watching people try things on, I’ll say that I’ve basically never seen the Sam not look great on anyone that isn’t trying to wear it too slim. That’s the key (and same with the grahame) - this is not a shirt you can size down on. You either embrace wide or pass all together.
18E knits are back!

@NickPollica - other colorways coming?
hahah considering Italian sweaters nearly ended the brand the last time we made them the answer is emphatically no. Two colors: black and a handful of volt/forest moulines because the knit down was so crazy I thought it would be fun to run a couple. That said, this is a test. These are expensive, but they’re worth every penny. The black is something you can easily wear 3 days a week in the winter. Incredible yarn. 🤞 they work and we can build the program out more next winter. But if you want sweaters from us, they need to sell at full retail.

ah thanks! I wish I could get another pair.

speaking of shoes, the winter preview also sold me on a pair of Merrell Wilderness 1TRLs. I regret missing out on the Oakledge Hiker Low, but these will hold me over until the Mephistos that apparently are in the works?

I saw those Mephisto’s in the studio and they’re really good. I already have that model in brown leather and it’s a great shoe.
I'm digging the new knit in black, as well as these brown cargos (looking like neo-goreckis?)

Pretty sure those are the Elgin(sp?) cargo that’s based of the Roy pant design.

Quick question about the Atlas Hooded Shell: Is the current version in Taslan also suitable for spring/ rainy summer (approx. 70 °F)? And how does Taslan wear on the skin?

I don't have the Atlas, but I do have a few Taslan 18E jackets, and I think they're prefect for Spring and light rain. Taslan isn't a loud, crunchy material and has a fairly soft hand feel, so very wearable. I would assume the Atlas is mesh-lined, similar to the other Taslan jackets.

Here's a couple of pics, worn mine every day since it came in lol. My first topcoat, I haven't been worrying about styling too much, just enjoying wearing it tbh. So far though I think I really like pairing it with brown pants.
The massive pockets bring me joy.

Can anyone who’s ordered recently comment on how long it took your order to ship?

How do you prefer trousers to be finished?

  • Plain hem

  • Cuffed (1.5 inches or less)

  • Cuffed (more than 1.5 inches)

  • No preference, as long as the proportions work
