I couldn't find an existing thread for things like this but there's a pretty interesting kickstarter going on: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects...premium-menswear-starting-with-d?ref=category

13.5 oz Cone Mills selvedge, made in San Francisco, and only $81. Really interesting embellishments like selvedge detail on the fly and side belt loop, half lined back pockets, tucked belt loops, and San Francisco made leather patch. Only one fit but measurements are available here: http://www.weargustin.com/assets/img/GUSTINSizes.jpg/ Already 71% backed as of this post with 32 left to go. What do you guys think?

no thanks. seems nice. i can respect making only one fit, but i dont have to like it. and if im going to invest in a company that hasnt actually produced these jeans yet, I'd need some added value such as free chainstitch hemming to my desired length (i didnt like how they said "you're welcome to hem your own jeans but we prefer stacking or cuffing." at a 36 inseam, im not into triple cuffing my 31" desired inseam)

with that said, many people will be satisfied with these jeans at this pricepoint I'm sure. but I'm gonna watch from a far and see how it goes.

Cool, thanks for posting. I appreciate what they're up to.
But straight leg is a deal killer with a 9" cuff at size 34.
I need a little bit of taper in there...

Fix up the fit, this should be good to go.

Like an above poster said, I'll keep an eye on this.

They just mean most jeans are vanity and theirs are not. They have measurements on there. Like a size 30 had a 30.5 waist.

I too will not be copping because of the fit.

I almost bought a pair of Gustin jeans at AB Fits in San Francisco last summer after trying every brand of jean they had in the store. (Tellason, Kicking Mule,APC, Red Cloud, Raleigh, Wrangler, etc..) I thought the Gustins were the best fit. I liked their fabric and cut. To me they were the closest to the classic LVC 1947 with just a bit more modern fit. The only reason I didn't buy them was they weren't long enough. I love that they are long enough to cuff and still have a 34+ inseam. This makes my day! I'm in for a pair.

But do they consider "regular size" in RAW denim or non-RAW ?
I wear a true 31 but when it comes to RAW I down size to 30 because of the stretch it will takes over time.
What size should I take then :) ?

So you've measured your best fitting pair of jeans and they measure 31" in the waistband? Based off my other Cone Mills selvedge denim jeans you're probably expecting around 1" in stretch so you should get the Gustin pair that has 30" waist. Also the denim is sanforized so you do not need to account for shrinking. By raw they meant untreated with any washes or distressing. Unfortunately they only have 29.5" and 30.5", I would probably go with size 30 to be safe based on the following fit guide:
