I'm just going with clothing and shoes here, but post whatever you want.

    1. Black leather shoes, I prefer a brogue.

    2. Khaki trousers, flat front.

    3. White dress shirt.

    4. Blue dress shirt.

    5. Dark gray/charcoal suit.

    6. Light gray suit.

    7. Navy blazer.

    8. Black leather full grain belt.

    9. Classic red tie.

    10. Dark wash pair of jeans.

That's the top ten I can think of right now. I am leaving out a ton of things I just couldn't live without, but this is my 10 bare minimum items. What is in your "10 items every man should have in his closet" list?

Wow, according to your list I am less than a man. Let's see:

    1. Black leather shoes, I prefer a brogue. I had the RLPL/EG MacKay & the EG Chelsea but sold them due to non use.

    2. Khaki trousers, flat front. I have a pair of Incotex which are nice but sadly the butt area blew out and I haven't had them fixed.

    3. White dress shirt. I do have one, PRL Regent custom fit with FC

    4. Blue dress shirt. I do not have a solid blue shirt

    5. Dark gray/charcoal suit. I had a wool/mohair fresco that I gave away, all others have stripes

    6. Light gray suit. I do have two but they are patterned

    7. Navy blazer. I have one but it is linen with MOP buttons

    8. Black leather full grain belt. Does the reversible belt count?

    9. Classic red tie. I have one with light blue squares that resemble a Greek pattern or the Medusa

    10. Dark wash pair of jeans. I do own a few pairs of 501STF raw denim.

Haha, that's not what I mean. This is just my humble opinion.I'm not one of those guys who goes around telling people how unworthy they are if they don't follow my style rules. That having been said, why not splurge and go on a mini shopping spree to fill out your top 10? ;o)

That's a good one that I didn't think of. Although I would pick a colored tie if I could only have one, if I could only have two the other would be black!

Hey guys, let Caustic Man live. If his thread dies, it dies.

I took a chance on that, but that thread seems more like it was your essentials rather than what you would have if you could only have 10 items. My concept was more to get an idea of the minimum ten items you think every man should have. Not necessarily the ten things that are essential to your personal wardrobe.

I just want to extend to everyone the same courtesy I have been afforded. :)

I thank you for that. Honestly the level of hyper vitriol I sometimes see from some people in here has alternately entertained me and kept me from coming back regularly. Not that anyone in this thread has been that way, but courtesy (as it is a dying thing in this world) is always appreciated and reciprocated.

Hey man, I know what it feels like to be piled on in a negative way. No bueno. Just trying to do my part to keep this site as enjoyable as possible for all and your topic fit the bill. I don't think I'd even seen the other thread (tho I may have posted in it). Rock on man. :)

I know bro, you still a good dude. Love needs not apologize :)
