I like it and can't wait to see it in the showroom! Although I liked the more 'purposeful' look of the prototype. The interior photos make it appear very well appointed and finished, and I think that it may put a price equivalent Euro sportscar's interior a run for it's money.

Maybe you may 'pull' more "p" in a Porsche, but if you need a car to pull, then maybe, just maybe you are compensating for a lack somewhere else?

The NSX has always been one of my very favorite cars. I don't find it particularly generic looking. IMO it screams "Honda," and that's cool with me.

well im in australia, and we've had GT-R's since they came out in the late 80's (because we're RHD we get all the good jap cars that were never sold in the states [IMG] ) one of the biggest mistakes nissan did was to not release the skyline gtr as a LHD

theyre an AMAZING car. Their popular nickname is "Godzilla" which was actually coined by the australian magazine wheels when they tested the r32 version in 1990 for the fact that it had supercar like performance that mimiced and in fact exceeded most european sports cars at the time. Unfortunatly later versions were limited by japans horsepower agreement which meant all performance vehicles were not allowed to exceed 300hp so in its later years it became slow and dull as other sports cars power increased.

a few years ago that agreement was done away with and now nissan are going to produce another world beating car like they did in 1990.

for me im not sold on the looks, and its powered by a new V6 instead of the renowned I6 that came before it.

will be interesting to see when its released!

It's yet another Japanese nerd car (along with the STi and the Evo 8): ugly, ungainly form follows function, but packed with performance.

I mean, seriously, are we comparing Porsche and Nissan here? Am I on the wrong web site?

This thing has 'I'm a douche who weaves through stop and go traffic, but with an IQ too low to know how to use a turn signal' all over it.

Oooh, I hear it comes with a free pair of sunglasses though

In my case, yes I am comparing the two. As for your views on who would be driving this car.... It appears similar to your viewpoints on the Streetwear forum..

most americans will never appreciate a car like this.

they should have only kept it for the RHD market, like the skyline.

Are you serious? It's a car that no serious speed freak can ignore, Americans or not. What's with the "with us or against us" mentality? I'm a fan of Bimmers and Porsches, but I'll also be looking seriously at this car when the time comes -- just as I seriously considered the 350Z and the G35 when I was shopping for a sport coupe. I ended up with a 330Ci because it presented a better total package. Who knows, this GT-R might change the dynamics of things -- as I hope it does. Competition is always good when it comes to cars.

It really doesn't matter if most Americans appreciate it, it is a low production high cost car that appeals to a tiny niche market; the uber car nerd. You really can't ask the general public to appreciate a car that is small, impractical, horrible on gas, has speed and horsepower not needed in everyday life, and with a high cost.

I would guess due to the performance numbers and the hype surrounding the car for decades (going back to the Skyline) however it will have strong sales within it's market.

I think the styling is too aggressive...aesthetically, I can't take it seriously coz it looks like a over enthusiastic rice burner. The older ones looked much better.

Performance wise, nobody should be complaining. [IMG]
