What do you call a Bugatti Type 41 Royale? Or a Type 57SC Atlantique? I'm pretty sure you can call them investments. Same thing goes for a Ferrari 250TR. Some cars ARE investments, unfortunately those that are few and far between.

As always, there are a few exceptions to the rule; most notably, antique cars, such as the ones you listed, fit that exception.

I thought I was walking into a 3 page thread filled with horror stories about buying a 12 year old Mercedes.

Turns out it was just people talking about buying a 2007 car new in 2007 :(
