I take magnesium every day, along with fish oil. It's good for you but it doesn't put me to sleep like melatonin does.

Yeah, it was a total stroke of luck just from googling for SNS blankets last winter.

I take whole foods brand generic 5mg melatonin tablets, and usually take 2-4 depending on how awake I am.

i gotcha, different forms do different things so if it's a generic then you're body probably isn't absorbing it thus you're not experience the full benefits (only proper forms of mag have the desired effect)

Got some cheap black out curtains to test out because the sunrise tends to wake me up, will report back on that shit.

Regarding beds, I'm a hot sleeper and I love the circulation and feel of a conventional mattress. I've bought the big box store mattresses in the past and they're all junk spring air, serta, w hotel mattress made by simmons i think it was. I got a saatva last year and it's been pretty good. I tested out some baller mattresses and will probably end up with one of those in the next year or two we'll see. I don't like latex. Current pillow is some goose downs from an oregon company I think it was but not really impressed. Much prefer percale to sateen sheets and I'm using RL but will need to upgrade.

Tempurpedic breeze is very good. It doesn't get that hot neither. I left it at my ex's place tho.

I'm fairly certain the whole mattress thing is a giant marketing scam. My mattress is 25 years old, hard, and shaped like a wedge and I don't really have any issues sleeping on it. Humans were fine for a hundred thousand years sleeping on leaves or whatever.
