True. But different AE sales has mostly different models on sale. The lowest I paid for seconds are $130 during January sale . These sales are just teasers. Makes you want to buy more shoes……

June 29th is the party and we fly out June 28th. I guess I could always pick up a tie over lunch on the 28th. Still looking for a minty/lighter green tie but it is hard for me to pull the trigger on clothing. Usually takes the fiancee saying I need it before I purchase something otherwise it will sit in my basket on that website until my next visit.

More as in I'll send you pictures, you tell me if you like it, and then it shows up at your door. No purchasing required [IMG]

I have a mint green floral on white Thomas Pink lying around somewhere. Let me find pictures and post 'em. I've worn it once, to a wedding. If I can track it down, if you want it, its yours.

Would I be approved to buy a white linen PS for the Friday Challenge? I may not ge to it, but I can try. I wouldn't win, either. But it'd be fun finally posting an actual fit.

1/3 of the way through the month. Everybody hanging in there?

I've been working on my wardrobe master plan during NPC, like the one Betelgeuse made last month, and am finding it helpful. My hope is that having a long-term plan will make it easier to avoid impulse purchases and be in control. I'd recommend that all NPC members consider writing a plan if they haven't already.

I just ate shrimp, which I'm allergic to (just bad hives) and am on the way to the hospital to get a shot of some sort.

Oh, how am I doing as far as purchasing? Still in the clear.

The plan is a good idea. My top items right now:
-Charcoal suit (unfortunately I don't own one. I have a few mid gray)
-Mid to dark brown balmoral. I have an AE 5th Ave in this color, but I need 1 more pair. I have a few light and mid brown shoes, but I think I need one more dark brown pair.
-Mid gray flannel suit (for fall/winter)
-Brown herringbone tweed sport coat (also for fall/winter)

I keep eyeing ties but have not purchased. My current fixation is on reallocating my fiancee and my retirement funds. While are currently all over the place, but are moving most to one brokerage other than our job 401k plans. Once we get that done then the process of selecting everything is in play. Saving money is harder than spending it ;)

Can you link me to that?

It's easy for me to get through this month since I've got stuff coming..
    Arrived:
    two pocket squares
    blazer
    chinos
    shoe trees

    Arriving:
    socks
    linen sports coat
    5 shirts

I guess I was busy last month. It is hard not to spend more since I have a Cali trip in July that I feel unprepared for. I need a weekend bag that my mom can get discounted for me from BR (oh noes 100% polyester!) from $225 to $125.

Doing well on the purchasing front. I'm avoiding Spoo's thread like the plague. I am putting together quite the list of adjustments that I need to make to my current wardrobe items, and trying to figure out if I can do them on my own, or if I'll need outside help. I'm also considering trying to make my own unstructured, casual jacket.

    My mind goes strange places...

This is exactly what I did at the beginning of this month and it's been working out well.

The issue for me is that my fall/winter wardrobe is way more well rounded because that's what season I was in when I first started making a real effort.

I've seen some nice finds on Ebay for summer jackets as well as some nice finds in the B&S forum here but I've resisted. I have enough to get by so I've made a list of summer staples I want/need and will collect as many as I can during the end of summer sales.

So far so good. Now that I've put away the flannels, I'm realizing I need more summer trousers. I will probably pick up a couple pairs of linen pants when the NPC ends to help get my through the summer without having half my wardrobe at the dry cleaners.

My current list of major items I really want to acquire is below (avoiding the summer items is a lot easier when you realize summer will be over by the time anything you'd order would arrive via MTM). Current plan is to keep slowly ordering pieces from Joe Hemrajani each time he comes into town (now not until September) and get the seersucker suit from BB's suiting essentials line when I can get one discounted by 25%. The list making is pretty helpful at keeping one focused; thanks for the suggestion.

    Suits:

    - Dark grey flannel DB suit
    - Charcoal SB suit (currently have only medium grey)
    - Midnight navy DB suit
    - Seersucker SB suit
    - Tropical wool SB light grey suit
    - Light tan SB linen suit

    Odd Jackets:

    - SB navy herringbone odd jacket
    - SB or DB Cream linen odd jacket (to replace current BB jacket which does not fit as well as it used to)
    - Fresco DB navy blazer

    Odd Trouers:

    - Slowly replace odd trousers with MTM versions over time

Very pleased to see the club being so helpful [IMG].

And I'm in a similar boat with regards to the Fall/Winter wardrobe (Korea just goes from winter to summer over the course of three weeks); I joined SF in August and my closet definitely reflects that. But FW is more fun anyway.

There is nothing I need other than perhaps a few polos for summer, and I don't plan on spending a lot of money on something without proper sleeves. My parents are coming into the country in a few days for my wedding, so they'll probably buy me some stuff.
