Jester, I'll vote yes with my yes being contingent on you coming up with and posting a thought out wardrobe acquisition plan. Reflection on what you want / need and why in a careful manner seems to be in the spirit of the NPC.

Here's the start. I start with this, then a numbering system. The plan is at the end of this month, to have something set. To have the crap off of that and the necessities at a higher number. Then start buying.

Ties are not on there. They're low priority as I won't really be wearing a tie for a few months. But there is the one from Panta I just HAFTA HAFTA have.

Note: I've added multiple shirts that are alike. I did that on purpose. After I get the swatches, I can delete what I don't want that's similar to other shirts. Same for the pants. So the $5000 total is really false. It'd be more truthful at the end of the NPC.

Some of those are real big needs. Grey pants are big needs. Blue and white shirts are needs. Khaki linen trousers are wants but for a casual weekend, I would like to have those. So the numbers could be higher.

    Alright alright. Swatches are approved.

    But bah humbug

Also, ftw, the grace period extends through the 2nd, so you're fine.

Well I didn't bought the SC that I wanted... but I'm going probably to use it for buying some shoes. Kind of a similar situation to mjester.

My dad will buy my one pair of shoes as a birthday present... they charge 35 euros to send them to the US or Mexico. Since the Mexican government charges most of the time 300% of taxes due to protection of the Mexican shoemakers I'm going to send them to the US and take advantage that my aunt from Villahermosa is going to Mc Allen and she will pick them up there and bring the shoes to Mexico City. So as you can see it's quite a crossing to bring shoes to Mexico, that's why I'll probably take advantage of that and buy a pair myself. Still don't know but odds are telling that might happen.

Folks, these are crimes of opportunity, not crimes of necessity. Betel, I'm not saying I'd blame you...I'm not even saying it's a bad choice...but the club will not condone it.

I know, I mean I can wait to the end of the month and buy them... for 35 euros extra or save those 35 and order two this time. I don't need them, but I want them and I can save 35 euros. [IMG]

You will never win your case now.

It seems like this group isn't just about holding off, it's about justifying purchases enough to make Clag relent. Glad to be a part of it!

I am not getting the small Duffle from Filson in otter green or the medium Satchel from Saddleback in chestnut right now. Thanks SF!

This quote makes me regret giving you a thumbs up jester..

Pretty sure it's a no purchase club, not a purchase what I need (or think I need) club.

On the other hand if you need to overhaul your business wardrobe that is totally legitimate, but in that case you probably should have waiting till August NPC

To me, the NPC is about holding off from making purchases with the idea being that sitting on it for a month will cause you to make better decisions. I considered swatches to be within the spirit of that since having swatches in front of you makes it much less likely you'll buy something that you'll seldom wear and is a smart way to think things through and make better decisions. If this is taken to mean that enough lobbying will allow one to do things that completely gut the purpose of the NPC, I will likely refuse to give yes votes in the future to anyone, no matter how dire their situation.
