If I recall correctly, it was on the US JIL e-store for a while (the white colorway), so probably was in production.

Cool! And thanks sipang for posting that interview & the article- just linked to them in the top post.

Also, random Jun fit pic of old raf sweater :p (take from yjp)

It's a shame they stopped putting the date/season underneath the RAF SIMONS on the labels. Retailers requested this, so they would have more leeway with selling stock at full price that is no longer *ahem* current season. The date is great for identifying the older pieces, but Yoox pointedly does not display the labels - even though everyone knows their game is selling old stock. It makes me laugh when eBay sellers carefully fold/conceal the label so you can't see the date, as if they're kidding anyone. For me, knowing the date is a big plus. The only other brand I can think of which puts the season on the labels is Lanvin women's.

Agreed on the label. I really wish all designers would do that. It gives the garment more context, in my opinion, which is something I like.

I really like that first interview Sipang posted. It's always fascinating to see how people end up where they are, and even more so when it's not an obvious path.

It's kind of plain for something you expect someone to identify and be able to date precisely....

Yoox has a great return policy. If you like it, give it a whirl.

Yeah.. Thats what I thought. I looked through the catalogs for the previous few years and couldn't find it. I'd give it a whirl but Yoox pictures capture no details, especially on quality. All I have is a brand name and a fit pic that I both like. Hm...

I agree, the business side of fashion wants everyone to focus on the latest and forget last season. This is a problem for designers like Raf who in a perfect world would take their time to develop and evolve their approach without the seasonal contraints placed on them by the usual business cycle. By dating his garments, you could track his evolution. Everyone could have their own debate on what was good or bad, but the date at least helps put it into the proper timeframe.

I got this t off of yoox last year and it had the date, albeit 2009-2010. I also got a couple of the raf by raf and they didn't have the date. Did he date his secondary line or only the primary?

Nice coat. Since it is spring/summer you can try going to style.com and going over the last couple years of Raf runway shows and see if it shows up. Two button flap pocket car coat with no breast pocket. Might not be that hard to identify. I know that sometimes they alter things for the market but not always. Give it a go and like a previous poster has stated you can always return it with Yoox if your not satisfied.

Look like a variation of this fw09 coat to me. I think Yoox may have misidentified the season - I've never seen any raf spring/summer piece made of 90% wool 10% cashmere. But if not I stand corrected.

Exactly my thoughts-- I found the same picture. The Yoox coat I linked looks much shorter though (I want it to be longer!), but that may be because the model is wearing too small a size. Anyway, thanks alot for your help. I am going to get the coat in grey. Too bad there isn't a code out at the moment.

Has anyone seen these pop up ever or have any more info? I've been looking for them for a few months now but I've only seen them in the pink/black colorway (ick) on ebay. I know they're FW 07, but don't know if they were re-done in other seasons. Also, they're Raf by Raf, not mainline, right?

    ^Never seen those myself :(

These look a lot better to me than in yoox pictures, contemplating kopping when price drops though I still would like to find these :( :

Also, came across another japan RAF stockist: eliminator and these throw pillows!
    [IMG][IMG]

Finally, looks like yoox japan has some unique items (mostly in s/s), such the pants and trench below and a lot of tees (many are available in tiny sizes too). Guess they'll eventually show up on US site?
