1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

Yes this is what happened after a big sale email goes out. When a website and server are set up to receive a traffic of N visitors at a time, and then all of the sudden gets 50 to 100 times N, all at the same time and almost all on the same page of the website... well, it slows down and some requests time out. Many sites go down in large spikes of sales-related traffic.

You can try to plow through the slower site along with the 100xN other visitors and get your order in - or you can wait 2 hours when most will be gone and go through a faster shopping experience.

Sorry about that - there isn't much we can do about it. We could stagger the sales emails so that not everyone clicks at the same time, but then we'd run into fairness issues (who gets it first?)

Some nice drops in some Drake's, especially the navy herringbone and the navy grenadine with slubby white stripes. I'm done for a while for ties, but those are nice pieces people.

What's up with the ties on sale going progressively up in price?

Edit: just saw greg's response a few pages back. More expensive Drakes ties that I don't really need makes me sad.

The ties did not go up in price, except for a rare handful of non-seasonal ones (like the plain grenadine and plain knits, which really should not have been included in the sale to begin with). The other hundreds of ties are deeper discounted now than ever before.

I grabbed a pair of the Heschung Mustang boat shoes and a Drake's pocket square from the sale. Bought the Heschung at size 9 (my Brannock size is 9D) per Greg's recommendation and they fit very well. I've never owned any shoes with ripple soles before and I think these are pretty cool. The leather feels similar to Chromexcel, which is a personal favorite of mine. I can see why people passed on these at the retail price, since it's hard for many to spend that much on boat shoes (including me), but at the current sale price, they are less than most made in Maine boat shoes and I think they are a bit higher in quality.

    Test fit shot:

Those are awesome - I insta-grabbed a pair for me. The ripple sole makes the shoe

Are they pretty much TTS? I am a pretty standard US 10D. 43F Last, 43.5U, etc.

I would say they are pretty much TTS. I'm a pretty consistent US9D and equivalent (Vass P2=42, AS 724=8F, Carmina Rain/Forest/Inca=UK8, G&G MH/TG=8.5E) and size 9 fits pretty well, maybe very slightly loose, which for me is desirable in a boat shoe.

I'm kinda tempted by the Schneider Slide shirts. Any fit pics around?

Incredible. Your taste (and timing!) are immaculate.

What the price going to be, and are you accepting pre-orders? Given that there are possibly two struggling boot GMTOs as we speak, it might be a good time to funnel some folks your way.

Look book (and I think a couple of retailers websites) show it with the sleeve rolled down but I think that it looks best with the sleeves cuffed up. That's also how I've seen Stephan Schneider wear his kimono sleeves

Oh, thanks a lot! It came out even better than I thought...

The price should be in the $1,1xx zone after SF 10% discount. We can do pre-orders but we just don't have that many of them to be honest
