I have the taupe Casentino and sized up one. This makes for a very snug fit over any kind of
layer beyond a shirt. Looking at the polo coat measurements I would consider sizing up two.

i think i should take chance sizing up 2 with the taupe casentino. per frank's exp, it looks a very slim cut.thanks

The sizing of the Casentino is a bit wonky. I went against conventional wisdom and did not size up, and am happy with my decision. (I am a slim 40R, or true 39R, and went with the size 50.) I can wear it over a medium-weight knit or a sportcoat/suit jacket that is on the thinner side. I confirmed at the trunk show that the size 52 was way too big for me. I would caution against sizing up two unless you like wearing your overcoats on the baggy side.

I can't picture the double breasted Mackintosh coat in action. I have the single breasted version (Waverly, I think)

Can somebody post some real life version pictures of it being worn?

Wore mine out tonight, so had the wife snap a couple pictures when we got home. For reference, I am 5'10", 170lbs and usually wear a size 40R suit. I have short arms so always need suit sleeves taken up. This jacket is a size 40. I don't own any double breasted jackets or suits, so I wasn't sure of it when I opened the gift. I must say that I like it as a nice change of pace.

I'm also a true 39R and got a couple of the casentino DB coats at size 50. I can get an Inis Meain toggle shawl collar sweater under it pretty easily, but not a size 40R Southwick jacket. I also own one LBM 1911 sport coat at size 48, after getting one initially at size 50 and found it to be a bit large for me.

So I guess I sized up one compared to the LBM 1911 sport coat, but otherwise took my standard size for the casentino DB coat.

What a great necktie, Stitch! Wow, the perfect color.

Gdl, I'm placing an order today-- What size Farnese elastic belt should I purchase? I'm a size 33 - 34" waist (size 34 in slim incotex trousers). I'm working overseas again, and no access to a tape measure or other examples of civilization, can you advise me?

Drakes grenadine. Thanks, guys!

Not that I've noticed. Have you had a chance to wear yours in SoCal much? Seems as if it would be a workable weight for cooler nights there.

Looks great. And I think your kitchen is a little nicer than the one in the background of my shot from last night. :)

I see what you're saying, thanks for the feedback. I'm 5'10" ~205-210lbs so sizing is an issue sometimes, I thought I may of had to size up to a 56 if anything.

Not sure if the 52 would have been too snug in the shoulders, which is usually the problem for me.

I would wear a size 50 in this style of jacket, and you got over 40lbs on me, so a 52 may very well be too snug in the shoulders for you. A 56 would have definitely been too big. Looks good though. Enjoy it. Valstar makes a sweet jacket.

Outdoor lighting pics are always appreciated.

I believe a couple people asked a while back about the collar. It stays up nicely on its own and has good height for colder days.
