Anyone have an idea of the purpose of leaving a basting thread in the shoulder seam like this?

I can understand basting pockets shut I think, but the reason for this eludes me.

I've always wondered myself. My Eidos SC had it too.

I think it just gives a clear indication the jacket is new and unmodified.

usually high end pieces will have it and it signifies that the garment is finished and is ready for final tailoring

Couldn't resist -- copped the Esemplare Parka and crossed my fingers with the Eidos Glenplaid.

Ordered my first Esemplar. Nothing makes you feel more manly than needing a 3XL.

While I always appreciate your brevity, I don't think that's true. Slowest website, maybe. Worst, def not.

Not the worst, but I think the drop down box should exclude items that are already sold out. No need to dangle a carrot in front.

Greg discussed this a few pages back; the sold out sizes remain so that it's easy to request a back-in-stock notification.

Rota trouser sizing question. I am usually 52 in Incotex Chino Lino. Or regular/generous/American fit size 36.

But my thighs make PT01 slim fit looks like leggings. And PT01 regular fit is rather slim fit on my thighs.

What size should I take?

Go back a couple pages--there were some shots posted. Absolutely gorgeous...the site pics don't so it justice IMO

Thanks. That was the previous year's light brown mac, which is absolutely beautiful. This year's is a dark brown, and I was curious about how that looked in natural light, in a fit.

Browns are great and having too many blue and gray jackets....

36 waist and 52 Incotex sounds like a 52 Rota might work, but the thighs could be an issue. I don't have the largest thighs, and the 52 is perfect. Maybe try a 54 and take the waist in? Others may have better input. Of course, only listen to the ones recommending 54...I don't need more 52 competition.

I'm consistently a 54 in Inco and 54 is my size in Rota as well. The garment-dyed cotton Rota fit trimmer than the wools - so if between sizes, prob size up. Otherwise don't.
