I always say dress how you want not what style you think it is
I love shawl collared sweaters as they help to compensate for my giraffe neck.
Wrong. It's a Gangham sweater.
I mean, it even looks like a grandpa sweater on Daniel Craig. It's not to say it doesn't look good! And if anyone's goal is to impress a <35 year old, it's not going to be with that type of sweater.
People used to say that about cardigans in general, didn't stop young guys from buying cardigans.
Santa brought a very nice Scott and Charters sweater this year: It's this stag brown one: Thought I'd post this pic in case it'd be helpful to anyone considering it. Great sweater, but IRL it has more of a reddish, rusty tone than on the website, at least on my monitor. The only other pic I could find was this one posted by c-4est, which looks closer to rl than the site's pic but is lighter than rl:
the proper response to this is always "ok"
i find it stifles further discussion perfectly
also grandpas got the most swag
when i first starting wearing cardigans in the office 6 years ago everyone called me mr rogers and i'd say thanks!
I get tons of random compliments on the GRP cardigan. Most of the others get the "Mr. Rodgers" comments...

Question for you guys. Would you wear this over a sportcoat or is this in substitution of a sportcoat?
I have that in a different color and I wear it over chunky, textured sweaters. Pants tend to be casual, like some kind of brushed cotton or denim.
In a series of videos he did with Esquire, Patrick Grant wore it over a dress shirt and a tie.
Although it's not something I would wear personally, it looked pretty good on Patrick. You can see the video here.
Like Derek, I wear mine over thicker sweaters with casual pants. I have that exact jacket from NMWA and while I'd wear it over a sportcoat I don't like it in the place of one.
In my opinion, neither.
Amazing how chicks talk shit about clothing and yet crossing that line with them is not even something to joke about.
I pretty much keep cardigans to jeans , t and sneakers wear. Unfortunately, I'm unable to accessorize it the way Glenn O Brian does here....
I love doing that.
