Hey guys, been a minute. Just bought my first Inglese shirt, one of the flannel polos. I got a 38 and a 39 to figure out sizing. The 38 is a bear to put on, but the fit is good. The 39 is slightly less of a hassle to put on, and I’m pretty sure I’ll need to have the body slimmed down a notch. Should I stick with the 39? Also, can I expect any fabric shrinkage in the dryer on low? I try not to use the dryer but ... life happens.

Definitely the 39, based on your description. There will inevitably be some shrinkage. I would also strongly reconsider the idea of slimming it down - it's flannel shirting, it has minimal stretch in it and will be difficult to put on (through your shoulders) if the waist is too tapered.

I've purchase a couple pairs of Rota trousers from NMWA. They are quite fine, and the fit is just spot on right out of the box. They are cotton twill (one pair is stretch cotton, the other not), lined to the knee, and the waist band is somewhat intricately constructed and lined with stripped shirting cloth.

Question: how do people wash these, especially given the lining to the knee, which I've not seen on cotton pants before?

I'm thinking cold, gentle wash, drip dry, then iron, but given all the complicated and varied construction materials, will they turn into a puckered mess? Dry cleaning?

I don't know about others but I give all my pants to the cleaners - it doesn't cost much and they are always clean and pressed well.

I washed a pair of cotton Rota’s per Patrick R’s suggestion (cold, delicate, hang dry) and they still shrank

Mm that’s a good point. I wasn’t going to taper it a lot but yeah, I’ll think about t
