Picked up some LEJ stuff - I'm a bit worried the shirts may be too long for me since I'm only 5'8" but i could not resist the cashmere sweater.
Gonna try some pieces also.
In for the olive jacket and striped shirt.

The waist measurement on the KS M43 cargos looks intentionally big, which makes sense with the drawstring. Just take your closest number waist size?
Yes indeed.

It’s unbelievable. I wish I could find a book of heavy silk twills like that for tailoring.

Not these. Still pretty sturdy melton. The two special edition (NoMan exclusive) coming in a few weeks are lighter and designed specifically for those who like the shape but can't wear heavy winter coats.

The gray looks really nice! When you say warmer climates what do you mean? Is it something I could get away with wearing in the fall/spring in Michigan. I know I’m not going to get much use out of it from December to February.

Yes exactly. It’s a jacketing weight so it’s a coat you can wear from low 50s to mid 60s. But won’t provide much protection from cold in below mid 40s

it was 90 degrees today where I'm at (and it wont get below 85 until...November?) so I'm very jealous of everyone who can live places where one can wear some of the beautiful coats that get posted

Are you getting any cardigans in this year?
Yes, lambswool, donegal and cashmere cardigans from Scott & Charters. because of Covid shutdowns throughout the year, they are running 6 weeks behind schedule on production. They’re expected to ship our order Nov 15

Received the Wythe bal. That is one solid, well made coat without any frills. Fabric feels to be a reliable workhorse for the winter. On fit, I understand that with bals you need to embrace the relaxed vibe but I’m trying to figure out how that should look. I found the Wythe (in what I believe is my size) pretty huge, like I can literally fit another body in there, and that’s over a sport coat. Is that how it’s supposed to fit? The sleeve length is just right though. I really don’t understand the advice that you can size up. If I got an XL, it would look like im wearing a blanket. Maybe bals aren’t just for me or I’m just not used to or ready for that next level look. I definitely don’t look as cool as Kamoshita-san in his bals.

I think it’s likely that your eye is formatted in a way where you can’t appreciate seeing yourself in a shape like that. If you like the look on others but feel like it’s huge on you, that’s basically what this is.

you can either try to open up your eye and train it to accept different silhouettes on you, or you can revert to wearing silhouettes that are familiar to you & your eye.

Fwiw, the model (older rancher guy) in the Wythe FW21 lookbook is wearing a full size up from his normal size.

What size flannel shirt is the "older rancher guy" wearing? Looks like sized down... ?

Got a compliment from my wife I don’t think I’ve ever heard: She said I looked elegant. Not sure I’d go that far (and it probably reflects the fact that she’s more used to seeing me in 18east double knees lately), but I do think it speaks to how nice this Doppiaa turtleneck and Document jacket look and feel in person.
