I wasn’t sure what if anything I was going to pick up from the niche drop, but apparently past me made that decision already and I just paid the balance on a pre-ordered embroidered sweatshirt.

I've had several packages stolen off our porch lately (and I have no faith in Ring/the overwhelmed city police) and NMWA and other AV packages coming in. Any of you been happy w/ the UPS in store pick-up option? Wanting to make sure that won't be its own circle of hell.

I used to get all my packages sent to an access point a couple minutes from my house. It was easy, no extra cost, and great peace of mind after my first nmwa package a couple years ago was stolen.

Recently, though, the access point has been refusing packages because they are full of boxes from ppl not picking up right away + lots of people using that option now. I’ve had to make a couple of longer trips to regional pick up centers, which hasn’t been bad, just a little out of the way. I’ve started getting everything sent to my house again hoping that someone’s home when they arrive.

I've done it twice for wife-fraud purposes and it has been mostly painless both times (one time I got caught behind a 40 year old hypebeast trying to get the UPS guys to package his broken KAWS figurines he was selling without having to explain why he was shipping an armload of toys). I now check to see if other stores ship UPS so I can do the in-store pickup.

I rent a box at my local UPS Store to receive packages. It's $400/year, so not cheap, but I consider it to be package insurance. (Since lockdown I have received several packages containing items worth mid-four figures and higher.) I buy enough online--the employees recognize me by sight--to make the expense worth it.
