FWIW, I once interviewed a textile conservationist who works with historical societies and museums. She gave some tips on how to deal with moths here:

Yeah, after watching the presidential debate and reading this, definitely not going to sleep comfortably tonight.

Question: do y’all think this is moth damage?

The hole goes straight through the sweater (front and back), which makes me wonder.

I mean, I did stuff these in my ski bag, so it could have been my poles. About to do a full wardrobe excavation, thanks.

I've always stored knitwear in sweater bags, suits/jackets in garment bags as well. When I'm concerned, @Newcomer I throw the clothes of concern in a bag and into the freezer for a week.

It just takes one moth infestation to ruin one's day/year...or a presidential "debate"...sorry, had to go there.

Unfortunately Monitaly Parachute jacket didn’t not work out for me. Will be going back to NMWA HQ. Size 40. If you want first crack, feel free to PM me.

Fear of moths has led me to not even use closed closets anymore.

Also having my mass of clothes in plain sight helps me stick to "one in, one out".
