Tell us about the Rota 4-ply wool ("ultimate travel"). I have a couple pair of the wool cavalry twill and they travel very well- they seem to spring out of a smashed suitcase after an overnight and after a quick shake they're good to go. Can you describe the difference?

It’s a 4-ply plain weave, so something like a fresco, with a more open weave than a regular worsted. It’s the VBC/Drapers version that many bespoke and MTM aficionados love to use for trousers (it’s one of the go-to fabrics for my friend Gianluca at Pommela). It’s much softer than Minnis fresco (which is always a little scratchy) but is also crisp and dry in the hand. It’s also not as open weave so it’s fine in colder weather whereas a light fresco is too cold for comfort.

These are my favorite summer pants. They wear cool, they look sharp, they feel nice. It’s a bonus that I can wear them in the spring and fall. Highly recommended.

I also want to plug the Rota moleskins. I’m in a pair today in snowy Chicago. Shown here with a Fujito sweater, Heschung boots, Norwegian Rain coat and Merola gloves and Inis Meain hat just off screen.

Are there any pics of a wide wale corduroy made up into pants? I'm really tempted by those, but I'm having a hard time picturing how they'd look in a proper trouser rather than something like a wider leg easy pant or the like.

Unfortunately I failed to do so. The fabric has some similarities to the irregular corduroy we had with Doppiaa this season, except that it'snot garment-dyed so it looks a bit cleaner. Very very cool fabric IMO
