I promised something for everyone and now it's time to talk about Rota. With their impeccable construction and @gdl203 's eye for fabric and creativity for new shapes and styles, it's a really cool selection that can span a lot of situations, socially and stylistically.

I'll start with the more casual styles and go from there:

The Brooklyns (double pleat, wider leg) come in strong with a sage green cotton solar (sheesh) and a super crisp tan pima cotton twill.

The Manhattan (single pleat, wider leg) returns too in a lightweight charcoal wool, with some slight variation in the yarns to give that nice depth of color.

The garment-dyed joints are back as well, in our classic plain front style. This type of makeup has been essential to us from the first spring seasons of Rota, and there is just something really special about the way this textured fabric takes on the color and shows fading on the seams. They've very handsome but not at all precious.

Easy pants are back of course, and there isn't much to say about a comfy pair of nicely made seersucker pants - just know that wearing these you will have a better pair than 105% of other people that wear seersucker pants.

Rota_Italy_Spring_Summer_2024_SS24_Flat-front_trousers_in_medium_grey_lightweight_fresco_wool ...jpg

Fresco wool is the perfect travel fabric - it wears cool and bounces right back into shape so it always looks sharp. Cut in a medium grey, are these The Most Sensible Summer Work Trousers On Earth? Probably.

And for when you want to pair with warmer hues, we've got the same flat-front Fresco wool in taupe as well.

Lastly, our popular higher-rise style (with side tabs!) in that perennial Loro Piana wool/silk/linen and a nice light grey Fresco again.

Aaaand Portuguese Flannel to follow. See, something for everyone! I wasn't kidding.

Looks like the dust is settling on May 9 for DC trunk show (and maybe a dinner that night, if y'all are up for it). It will be a joint trunk show with Pommella.
Sent email asking for 6:00PM on your DC visit!

Hey no man team: I'm going to be in town in a couple of weeks. How much heads up do you need for an appointment?

I'm Rota-curious but am unsure about sizing, especially on this latest batch since I don't see measurements posted. How do folks here size, for example, the Manhattan and the flat fronts?

(Edited since measurements now added—thanks!)

Sometimes I've looked at other fabrics for the same cut (sometimes from previous seasons). Manhattan, for example:

How does the cut/sizing of the Rota Flat Fronts or Higher Rise Trousers compare to the Model A Trouser at the Armoury?

Really like the color combos. Wish I was more competent in that area.
Just practice getting our of your comfort zone. I have huge Pinterest boards with ideas for different seasons to visualize different styles and colors together. After that is the eye test and getting accustomed to wearing them. Before long it becomes somewhat instinctual I bet for the best dressers here. Taking fit pics can also serve as a visual catalog of what has worked well in the past and what needs work. Just my 2 cents.

I would simply say that if you are able to recognize this as a good color combo, then you are competent and you have developed an eye for it. All you need to do now, is put combination of garments on your bed and check if your eye tells you it's good. Switch elements until you find something you really like. Trust your eye. The same one that tells you that @RajunCajun 's fit is good

Thanks for the encouragement.
