KS is this week I believe

You got it! It was a real joy to hang in the showroom last winter with Kori, the sales rep that we've been in touch with for so long. Kaptain Sunshine is really one of those brands that can have such a different vibe depending on how you buy it (Monitaly also falls in this camp) so it was nice to really be among the racks of everything they produce and get a feel for all of it in one place.

Since there was already some talk about it, we should kick off with the Traveller coat. Same silhouette and details we love but this season's is a little lighter than some others, but softer. It's a double-faced melton wool with some contrast in all three colors we stocked. It's a nice touch and all of the inside colors are complementary and tasteful with the outer.





The other piece of outerwear comes in a fabric that was a highlight of the season, a new cotton/linen duck. I know when you think of duck canvas you think of stiff, heavy-duty, and something to be broken in, but in true KS form this one has a lot more going on. It's almost fluffy with the irregularity and softness of the yarns, and gives the look of a well-worn and washed cotton duck but feels much softer than even a broken in typical duck. The goat suede collar is a nice touch and further cements this as a much more highbrow take on a classic style.



Continuing the cotton linen duck program are some painter pants in the other colors offered, and these of course have everything we love about the fabric as well. Wide, straight leg feels good to wear and is easy to pair with the roomier tops.





Our guy above is wearing one of the tees we picked up, which is superlative as KS does. Tubular, Suvin Supima cotton, you know the drill. White and navy. So freaking nice.



Rounding things out are a few more trousers. The first are the usual side tab / two pleat joints but in a really rich garment dyed cotton, and the second are an easy pant style in a really special corduroy. Super long staple cotton (of course), then tumble washed for softness and extra depth to the color.

I will add that because of the volume of weekend orders we’re still working to ship out, we may not be able to make EA happen this week. It’s possible we’ll have the stuff up in the EA section a couple hours before regular Friday drop time though.
