When does Ikiji drop? Saving the powder for that; if it's like the last SS collection gonna need to get everything.

I did not try either and am frankly not a Rota customer so not sure if my input even matters, but I was initially interested in both. Ultimately I did not purchase because you already sell an item that fits that role (high rise, pleated, roomy upper w/ taper) well for me: the Monitaly Rider pants.

Obviously the Rota finish and dressy details are superior (from what I can tell in photographs) and the choice of fabrics materials is excellent (vs the Monitaly SS options of vancloth oxford or cotton linen - I have both) but I'm largely looking to wear these cuts with camp collar short sleeve shirts, linen polos or tunics, loafers, etc., and I felt that I was okay w/ a slightly more casual pant in the Rider at ~$100 less. If I didn't already have a few pairs of hopsack or fresco higher rise dress trousers , I may take a closer look at the dressy Rota Manhattan/Brooklyn options, but I do prefer a more classic design and silhouette w/ my sportcoats.

@gdl203 would a brooklyn cut make sense for corduroy when pairing with a tweed jacket and/or textured wool sweater? A double forward pleat, relaxed leg, 5cm cuff sort of a thing.

Yes I think so. With a sport coat, it would have an old school ivy vibe. Without a sport coat, it just looks like a nice relaxed trousers you'd see from a lot of Japanese brands.

I personally love the Manhatten, and will be picking up a few pairs in FW fabrics later this year. None of the current season fabrics spoke to me, but the cut looks amazing

Mmm... I think Manhattan is 21 cm on a sz 50 (and our normal belt loop style is 21 too now that I think of it). Brooklyn is 25
PEBKAC. I was looking at the leg opening for a 48. Virtusize says 20 cm for a size 50 Manhattan, so just 1 cm smaller than where my other Rotas get hemmed.

For those who did not try one yet:
  • do you find the new shapes attractive or not for you?
  • which speaks to you the most?
  • what would make them better and a good candidate for you?
Thanks !

Haven’t tried them, but interested in the Manhattan. I have several pairs of the high rise version with and without pleats. I have to go up to 52 for the thigh room and bring in the waist. Curious to see if I can get away with a 50 Manhattan which may require almost no alternation or if I’d still need to go up for the intended fit.

Trying to get my weight down a bit first to give them a fair review since I’m currently pushing the limits of the pairs I have, without letting them out again.
