Wash oxford cloth before making the shirt

Hi, I asked a shirtmaker to increase some of my measurements for an OCBD I am about to order due to the shrinkage that occurs with the Oxford fabric, and he suggested washing the fabric prior to making the shirt to reduce the effect of shrinkage. Any opinions on pre-washing the fabric before...

Do Ralph Lauren Polos shrink if put on high heat?

Hi, I put my Ralph Lauren polo (Newport Navy) in the dryer on high heat for an hour, not realizing that the reccomended heat for dark clothes is medium heat. I tried the polo on afterwards and it doesn't seem like it shrunk at all. I compared it to my other new Ralph Lauren polo, which is white...

    Best way to shrink linen

I bought a 100% linen shirt at a great price ($10, BNWT), but it's a tad too blousy. It's been washed, but not put in the dryer. If I do stick it in, do you think I'll get a decent amount of shrinkage, or will I have to tailor it? Geoff
