Wash oxford cloth before making the shirt
Hi, I asked a shirtmaker to increase some of my measurements for an OCBD I am about to order due to the shrinkage that occurs with the Oxford fabric, and he suggested washing the fabric prior to making the shirt to reduce the effect of shrinkage. How much does linen shrink after washing?
I'm getting a safari jacket made from linen, tailor did make it clear he would wash the fabric before cutting. Would there be any more shrinkage if I threw it in the wash on a delicate cycle?- FlyingHorker

Will drying without washing first cause shrinkage in cotton?

Do Ralph Lauren Polos shrink if put on high heat?

Best way to shrink linen
I bought a 100% linen shirt at a great price ($10, BNWT), but it's a tad too blousy. It's been washed, but not put in the dryer. If I do stick it in, do you think I'll get a decent amount of shrinkage, or will I have to tailor it? Geoff- Geoff Gander
