    Ingredients in Venetian Shoe Cream

What's in this stuff? I have some of this stuff, it is insanely cheap. It says it is a cleaner and it polishes. It works well to build a shine, but is it a conditioner, or mostly solvents? It seems to take up a lot of finish.

HELP! Problem with Kiwi wax polish cracking on shoes

So I use Kiwi wax polish to polish my plain toe double monks. After a few wearings, the wax I guess dried up and it cracked and flaked and is coming off and it really doesnt look good. I decided to strip the old polish off using saddle soap and after reapplied a few thin coats of kiwi. After 1...

Car wax on shoes (I know, a sin...)

I'm not much of a shoe care expert, but I've been detailing cars since I was a kid. So I had some free time, was reading up on some detailing forums, and got to thinking, why not? So I grabbed the nearest sealant (NXT), an old pair of shoes I wouldn't care much about destroying, and put on a...

Should I use saddle soap or no?

I finally received all of my supplies from AE and went and bought some saddle soap from a local shoe repair shop here in LA. I bought the saddle soap b/c my shoe shine guy would always use this plus I read some of you use it as well. But when I did a recent search (a few minutes ago) some were...

Matching Shoe Polish To Shoe Color?...

How do you go about getting the best color match between your shoe's original color and polish or wax? Many online sellers sell shoes, i.e. C & J in their "unique" colors...chestnut, but do not offer the corresponding chestnut polish. Some manufacturers do not even make color-matched...

How often to polish and condition shoes?

I got this info from "A Suitable Wardrobe". I found it to be a bit much to condition my shoes each time I polished them. I usually use conditioner every 2nd or 3rd polish. http://asuitablewardrobe.dynend.com/...r-at-time.html 1) Apply a conditioner (e.g. Saphir Renovateur). 2) Let shoes dry a...

Agonizing over 1/2 size when buying shoes - - Pointless?

I bought a few pairs of shoes this week and, as I often find myself doing, I agonize over 1/2 sizes. One is slightly more snug, but will give and break in, the other will be slightly looser. I can never make a choice that I am 100% happy with. I always wonder if I should have gotten the other...

    Shoe cream vs. polish

I've know there have been lots of shoe care threads and I've read all I could find, but one thing that I've not seen mentioned is whether the use of both cream and polish is beneficial.  If only one or the other should be used, how does one choose which to use? Regards, dan
