Honestly, I hardly wear ties. I picked up the burgundy one bc I like the print and it feels nice and is thick. The paisley I grabbed bc it was cheap and I figured someone may want it. Oh well

CODHEAD: That did not even cross my mind. Thank you, and thanks Matt for responding as well. Well here is the verdict...

This is a Barbour sweater from several seasons ago now….probably seven or eight.  The label was used when our Classic line first came out.

Kind regards,

Debbie Broadley

With that said, is anyone interested? It is several sizes to large.

I'm pleased you got it cleared up and well done. Also well done to Debbie Broadley for taking the time to get back to you, unfortunately too many "brands" see this as below them, I've even had one answer me with "if you never bought it new from me, I'm not interested".

^You'd be amazed at the wrinkles steam will take out of a tie.

We have a steamer. I found a Thrywhitt tie wrinkled and it came out so so. The Canali I saw looked like it may have been dry cleaned...it just seemed like a tie you overlook the name and pass because of the condition.

You kind of learn what good silk looks like and the hallmarks of exceptional construction (I wont go into that right now, but I can hit a wall of ties in a few minutes and glean the good from the ok from the horrible).

Umm... please? Please go into that?

Also for anyone who wants to help out someone relatively new to this, what's a good way to go through pants quickly and find the ones I should pay more attention to in a sea of Dockers, Perry Ellis, etc.?

We went over that recently. If I remember correctly, one must learn the inside-waistband patterns of the high-end pant makers to have the most success, or just know how to tell good material by feel.

2.  A few ties.

I've never seen one before so to quell my anxiety is this legit?

And, of course, as soon as I got home I noticed that the stitch is coming loose.  Does this kill any value?  Other than this the tie is flawless.

I'm no expert, but you may have a winner there. I can't get a lot of details from your pics, but check out this guide: http://reviews.ebay.com/The-Hermes-Tie-Fake-Knock-Off-or-Authentic?ugid=10000000002989634

Obviously, the stitching will lower the value slightly compared to a regular Hermes tie. Where's the Spoodar?

But if it's real, that is the nicest Hermes tie I've seen roll through here. At least for my tastes.

Found my first "Made in England" shoes yesterday - 2 pairs of Church's Diplomats, black and brown, both in my size:

Left behind a pair of black AE Strands (10.5) in similar condition. Assuming they're still there, I'd be happy to pick up for someone at cost ($25 or so plus shipping). PM me if that's your size and you're interested.

Emma's just returned from a brief charity shop forage with what has now turned out to be my Christmas present. A bespoke John Lester (Jermyn Street but works out of Harvie & Hudson on The Row), SB 2 btn blue pinstripe, with working cuffs, fishtail-back pants with DAKS tops etc. I'm gonna need about 1.5" disappearing off both the coat chest and the pants waist but I shall be calling on my ex-Row seamstress to sort that out for me.

I can now eBay my own Crombie blue pinstripe and the Cerruti blue pinstripe that I was originally going to keep for myself.

:lurk: Oh DIIIIIIIGGGGG
Hey! I've been busy.
Here you go... Slightly different logos. The 2nd one is actually the one they have on the website right now. I personally like the Spoo one better. Spoo, if you have a request just let me know. I did these quick so if you want one for a avatar, I can do it higher quality real easy. I now have a Spoo file. :worship:
I like the one with the thinner border. It looks cleaner, but I agree, the SpooSignal looks hot as it is.
 This is hysterical... I don't know what to choose? I think I like the Spoo one better too..
 The Batman does not shine his own Bat Signal. That's left to the citizens of Gotham. There's a certain protocol to this superhero thingy, yanno?

I'm pretty torn between trying to sell it and keeping it. I really like the way it looks but I rarely have the opportunity to wear ties.

That Hermes is legit.
Nice score.

Here's your next mission..
(11-30) 07:17 PST Iowa City, Iowa (AP) --
Charity workers are hunting through a warehouse of donated clothes in Iowa after an elderly man said he accidentally left $13,000 in a suit that he gave to a Goodwill store in Moline, Ill.
The man in his 80s says he doesn't know exactly when he donated the suit in which he'd been storing the money. He told Goodwill that the money represented his life's savings and was being used to defray medical expenses from his wife's battle with cancer.
Goodwill spokeswoman Dana Engelbert says the suit could have been sold at the Moline store already or that it may have been sent with other clothing donations to a regional Goodwill warehouse in Iowa City.
A $1,000 reward is being offered for the return of the money.

Welcome to yesterday ;)
