Rome, ****** weather.

It was finally decided. Maomao and I would take a week to visit our respective tailors in Naples and Florence. Organizing our schedules was challenging enough, especially since the original quartet included kalecho, Tokyo mike, Mao and I toyed with the idea of such a trip.

Regardless, it finally happened. This is simply a fun trip that we enjoyed and wanted to share with the forum.

Stay tuned.

I am preparing myself to hate this thread, and those who post in it.

The genesis of this idea was a conversation between Kolecho, Tokyo Mike, Mao and I back in early 2011. However, this was to be a challenging task with our respective work commitments.

Mao and I finally bit the bullet in late March. We bought tickets, hastily sent out emails to our respective tailors and started reviewing our various currency hedges.

Our itinarary was laser focused on the following - meet with our respective tailors, gorge on Italian food & wine and do a little shopping / sight seeing. We decided to make Rome our base of operations opting for a reasonably priced boutique hotel near Termini, which gave us access to Florence and Naples. The plan was simple, arrive on Easter Monday, visit Naples on Tuesday, visit Florence on Wednesday, hang around Rome on Thursday, return to Naples on Friday and depart on Saturday.

The double hit on Naples was to get as many fittings in with our Neapolitan tailors as possible. We both had commissions with the same mystery bespoke tailor and Mao had an appointment with Rubinacci. I also had four jackets that needed some minor alterations. In Florence, Mao had an appointment with Liverano and I had an appointment with a mystery bespoke tailor.

Here is another teaser shot as this story unfolds.

Naples, second fitting. Mao convinces Gaz to try a new tailor.
