I did not specify the EU sizing, Mr. Kuti did, I said I was UK6.5 and I received EU41.5.
I returned that pair both because of size and wrongly executed design caused by misunderstandings between two non native English speakers - Mr. Kuti and myself.

Right now I've got a pair of EU40.5 at my place and even if I'd like to, I can't say they fit myself the way I'd like them to.
I have posted earlier about them likely being the correct size for myself, especially when worn with my ortophedic insoles (low instep), but I don't believe in it anymore.
I have put them on for whole an hour so the leather could take the temperatuer of my feet and mold around them and I end up experiencing too much heel slipage and my toes don't reach into the toe box far enough.
Fiddler and others said they were UK6.5 and have gone EU40 in Vass F and were fine.
I took and measured the traces of my feet over and over again, have gone to a department store that offers C&J and tried on several pairs for countless times (some I like in UK6 others in UK6.5), as well as I have gone to three cobblers to have them have a look at the Vass.
They agree the current size is too large but are afraid of telling me how much to size down.
Also I have a pair of US7 Rancourt & Co Ranger Mocs which I am very comfortable in, yet of course I do understand it is difficult to compare a suede mocassasin derby to a calf dress oxford.
So now I am faced with the tough decission whether I should size down to 39.5 or 40.
40 definitely won't be too small but might even still be on the large side, especially as one of my feet is noticeably smaller than the other anyways.
If I go 39.5 I might end up with a pair that is too small for my bigger foot, but if I am lucky they might just be the best fit I could get out of the F last with no more than ~1.5cm in additional length.

Have a look at the link below.
My bigger foot is ~253mm long, according to the link I should always be UK6 and either the greatest length in 39.5 or the smallst in 40, not taking width, heel etc. into account.
No idea if Vass sticks to this very values though.

Agree with Louis XIV size chart from Wiki - gives you a true indicator if your familiar with converting from UK (amber) size to Eu (red) size.

For the price of two EGs, you can probably get a plane ticket and two Vass that fit properly.

For an extra €59 you can also book a 2.5 hour return business class train ticket from Budapest to Vienna :)
And pick up some SCrispin and sample the other delightful shoe makers in Vienna...and the nightlife memorable too ;-)

This question screams for fritzl ;)

Out of the top of my head - Scheer, Maftei, Materna.
If I recall correctly Balint died recently, so that one not anymore.
Also doesn't Vass have a store in Vienna as well?

Balint's family did intend to keep things going. The son and widow both had a fair bit of training. Not sure what's up now-- I only got one pair from them (around when Mr. Balint died), and haven't been back yet to have the pattern tweaked.

There are some dealers of Vass in Vienna, but I don't know that there is a Vass-owned outlet.

Haha; who knew a random joke comment would lead to a discussion. I do personally think of the higher grade shoe makers of this world that Vass is the best bang for buck and if I had a choice I would go to Vass and get what the website calls 'Bespoke' (assuming a hands on MTO with a last maker from the info on this thread). Also would love to check out Materna remember seeing a pair of Materna's in person a while back!
Though sadly never had the pleasure to see a pair of vass T_T

Here's a shot of the P3, along with most of the others. I think the size of the shoe photographed isn't the same as that of the P2 or R, so it's not a great comparison. Nevertheless...

http://shoegazingpunktse.blogspot.com/2012/10/kopguide-vass-shoes.html

The more I see the Budapester on the P2 last, the more I like the combination.

I thought the P2 was no good for you?

Question, I had tried a 45.5 on the F last and the length was good (perfect for left foot, a little long for right) but the width was just a tad too narrow for comfort. I'm thinking about a budapest or norweger on either the P3 or Budapest last. Should 45.5 still be the right size?

I have an order literally just paid for today that is a pair of P2 and P3. So we'll know for sure in a little while.

Irrespective of how they fit, I do like the look of the P2. I like the F even more, of course, but have been told not to bother trying them.

What's the biggest size they make in RTW? The pricing a few pages back mentions 48, is that it?

Vass F and P2 same size:

The P2 is more rouded in the small toe curve, this is better for my feet.

I mailed to Vass to order shoes in shell cognac but they told me they only have Bordeaux and black in cordovan. How come they have it only sometimes?

Anyone have an opinion of the Bordeaux calf? Is it good looking? Or should I choose something like antique cognac instead?

Cordovan leather is a rare commodity and some colors are even less readily available.

I advise that you wait for the color you want if you must have cordovan, or buy calf if you can't wait.
