I have been looking for a while now and havent picked one up yet, just havent gotten around to it, however I am now getting hassled by my sister for a christmas list I am gonna tell her to grab me a tie bar. Any reccomendations? I know J crew has one and Tiffanys actually has one for around $75, I am looking for a simple, unadorned, silver tie bar/clip. Maybe with a slight deisgn but nothing crazy.

Also whats better tie bar or clip? I would think the bar would be because it doesnt crimp ur tie by literally clasping onto it, however with the tie bar there may be a chance of it falling off easier....

here is the j crew one (a bit pricey for a jcrew tie bar imo)

here is the tiffanys (for $10 less than J crew I would prob. go for this one)

I occasionally wear a sterling tie clip (Dunhill) and it hasn't damaged anything.

I have the J.Crew one, but it has developed a few annoying scratches. I may give the Tiffany one a try.
