Jantzen Fabric & Button Samples

As promised, I was able to get some swatches from Jantzen. I was limited to the fabrics which had numbers written on them. Many of the books did not have numbers on the fabrics which would be difficult for people to pick the fabric online. I was able to get 28 samples and buttons.

I have a dilemma and asking for feedback.

1) How much of a sample does one need to get a feel for the fabric? I am thinking 1 inch by 1 inch is sufficient right?
2)How much demand is there in Canada? I have decided to pay the shipping to mail the swatches out, and expect that the person I send the swatches to will pay the postage to send it to the next person. Sort of a pay it forward idea. Ideally if a set gets to Canada it should stay there to minimize costs – so how many people in Canada really want to see the swatches? Please post on this thread if you are from Canada and would really like to see the swatches.

I obtained 13 whites, 12 blues, 1 pink, 1 purple stripe and 1 blue stripe. The majority of them are from the higher end fabrics (8xxx series). See pics below. The 1st pic shows 29 (but two of them are the same, I realized I cut too small initially).

The buttons are MOP, Trocas, and regular buttons.

On a side note here is the link to my visit to Jantzen with pics of the store. http://www.styleforum.net/showthread.php?t=84440

Some things are better said bluntly. And why not?

Thanks for doing this. Some of the photos--particularly the whites--actually give a better feel than the website.

Obviously. But clearly I'm willing to take a chance here. It's better than stabbing in the dark, isn't it?

Are you able to take larger pictures of the swatches, maybe with flash or in natural light? Apart from the blue herringbone I can't make out the details in any of them.

Hi,

I would much rather start the swatch conga line (to borrow from flyertalk.com) and just have people see the swatches themselves. Since the 8xxx series is new I can't see them running out right away of that fabric, so if you get the swatches quickly enough you can order what you are actually seeing and touching. The difficulty will be in trusting that people do send it to the next person and they don't hang on to it too long or cut out a swatch of the swatch leaving little for the next person to see.

Anyway, still waiting for some thoughts to my original questions about the size of the swatch and canda issue.

Done. I also sent my measurements and address; if you could kindly provide a valid CC # it would be much appreciated.
