Does anyone know any good shops in London that sell affordable vintage clothes? Btw: By vintage I mean fogey vintage rather than couture or 1960s stuff.

Despite looking rather tatty, Old Hat has fended off competition from more trendy Fulham High Street stores, and is full to bursting with classic and vintage clothing. Stock is principally oriented towards men's clothing - including a range of country and vintage suits from classic English tailors, and other formal wear - but women can find the odd treasure. David Saxby, the current owner of this shop, has been featured as a consultant on the Antiques Roadshow, so you know you are in safe hands.
No connection beyond being a customer.58 Old Hat vintage The tea-quaffing, pipe-smoking owner of Old Hat, David Saxby promises ‘Savile Row elegance for Skid Row credentials’ and delivers just that. This smelly treasure trove of vintage men’s clothing is the destination of choice for skinflint dandies, who can pick up secondhand bespoke Huntsman suits for £125, not bad when the originals can cost upwards of £3,000. All the gentlemanly requisites can be found here: tweed, top hats, trilbies, silk scarves, overcoats and moleskin trousers. You don’t have to be poor to appreciate this place either; the design teams of Burberry, Ralph Lauren, Gieves & Hawkes are all regular visitors. Even the CEO of Dunhill, Yann Debelle de Montby, can lovingly recall buying his first suit here, aged 18. Best buy Morning coats, £75-£95.
