Schott's been producing motorcycle jackets for decades, and created the original "Perfecto" jacket - as seen on Marlon Brando, the Ramones, and countless others. This banded collar shape has been in their line for years as a true riding jacket. Their traditional shape is very much a motorcycle jacket - the length is short, the pleated "bi-swing" allows you to hang over a tank, and the overall fit is generous.
This jacket was designed by Schott's Japanese team to be a slim-fitting interpretation of their classic Cafe Racer. Like the original, it's Union made in the USA of tough 100% cowhide. It has the same heavyweight chrome zippers and fittings. You'll instantly feel the quality when you put it on. But the chest is dramatically slimmer and straighter. The sleeves are slimmer. The rear has no pleats for a sharp fit. The trimmings are pared down to the bare essentials: snap tab collar, two front zippered pockets, nylon liner, one interior pocket, zipper closed cuffs.
While this is certainly tough enough for riding, it's also easy to wear casually. And like the original, you can expect to wear this timeless jacket year after year. Few things are as beautiful as a well-worn Schott leather with a gorgeous patina. This handsome piece is no exception, and you'll love breaking it in and watching it age.
