Epaulet Sewn by Hand footwear is our exclusive in-house brand. Each piece is handsewn and meticulously crafted in Maine of the finest leathers and materials.

The Penobscot is a classic "beefroll" penny loafer - so named for the signature stitch detail on the sides. The upper is gorgeous Horween Chesapeake leather stitched to a handsome single-leather sole. This versatile style is easily dressed up or down and can be worn year-round. If the sole wears out, a cobbler can easily replace it. The toe is hand-stitched and a padded footbed runs along the interior. We gave this particular make-up a glove leather liner to ensure that it holds its structure and is as comfortable to wear in cooler months as it is in warmer ones.

What more can be said about the classic beefroll penny loafer, other than it's perhaps the most versatile, easy to wear, and comfortable leather-soled shoe out there-- nearly flawless in it's beautiful simplicity. The handsome “bark” color is a rich combination of brown, olive and slate that’s remarkably deep without being overly dark. It’s a pleasure to pair, all the way from washed red to navy.
