Cad and the Dandy - My first foray...

Hi David, I bought an off the rack suit from suit supply and got the sleeves, pant length, pant waist and suit chest altered (£300 total) and had a MtM from CAD (£650). The CAD suit had to have several appointments, alterations and re-alterations (10 weeks) whereas the suitsupply suit fit...

    Is Thomas Pink considered quality?

PINK has marginally better fabrics and choice than TM Lewin for example, construction is pretty much the same. TM Lewin shirts usually retail for £25 and Pink is usually £75+ Pink shirts are only worth it during christmas when the non-solid colors are 50% off. IMO

hi, i went through the same analysis so perhaps i can share my experience as I have dealt with both. CATD and SS are two very different companies so it really depends what you want. If you want made to measure (where they take your measurements and make a suit exactly your size in china) then...

Looking for "Thin" ties (as in thickness)

I am looking for thin ties. I dont mean narrow, I mean ties that can be tied with very small knots - kind of like old 60's italian style/mad men hope that make sense.

What is wrong with my shirt collar?

The collar could also be half a size too small - this is also evidenced by the . Most people dont realize that the collar should actually be a little loose and the tie should "squeeze" the collar The effect is as if the collar points are being pulled out/back, putting strain on the button and...

Can somebody please explain why square toed shoes/long lasts are so derided around here?

shoes, like clothes, have a primary purpose which is functional and a secondary purpose which is visual. "classic style" is fashion that stick to the functional aspects derived from nature whereas "modern style" favors the visual over the practical. Does a neon pink polystyrene suit breathe...

bespoke novice, experiences with Graham Browne or Choppin & Lodge?

If you are not a frequent wearer of suits with considerable knowledge as to why mohair is better in the summer or why fat people need longer gorges etc., going bespoke is hardly going to be worth it - in my opinion. There are 3 kinds of people that go bespoke: "The Rich" - People with money...

Information on Buying Suits in Your Price Range

Apologies, my expertise only extends to the London market. I have no experience with Brooks Brothers and Ralph Lauren although they do seem to come highly recommended. As far as suitsupply is concerned , i think they make a very nice suit for the money. Construction-wise the RTW line is all...

Information on Buying Suits in Your Price Range

A lot of time is spent discussing what the best suit is and what tailors do what etc etc. however I feel that there are a lot of casual visitors who come seeking answers to questions or looking for some simple introductory advice (before being sucked in to the sf abyss). At least this is why I...
