I just finished A Single Man. I really liked Isherwood's style but I couldn't really relate to the protagonist on most points, and even if I recognize myself in him to some extent most of his internal monologue goes way above my head. Maybe when I grow old I'll be able to understand him more...- MumRaww

Just started Dusk and Other Stories by James Salter. So far it's incredible, probably the best I've read since Cormac McCarthy and certainly more accessible. Before that I tried to read Trees of Smoke but my interested vanished after a hundred pages or so. I'll probably return to it later and...- MumRaww

Advice on getting a Swedish work permit/job in Sweden
Just be careful, it's illegal in some countries to go looking for jobs on a tourist visa with heavy fines as punishment. Not sure about Sweden though? I feel like I should know more about this but I've never been in the same situation as you.- MumRaww

Yes, I've thought of that too. There are a lot of grad programs in english. The bummer is that I have to wait until next fall (unless someone knows of a program in which I could enroll for the Spring). Dunno, you should be able to sign up for individual courses but that might not be enough for...- MumRaww
