Why do so many collar points curl inward or point upward?

I've noticed that it is more likely to happen with non-iron fabric, but my method works great on all shirts.... easy way out of the problem as opposed to dropping $$$ on new shirts. Won't the starch damage the fabric?

Why do so many collar points curl inward or point upward?

The Banana Republic collars points curl inward. I'm talking about the very tip of the collar points - part the collar stay doesn't extend to. What can you do about that? Meanwhile, the Nordstrom collar points don't necessarily point upward, but they "float," even with collar stays...

Why can you tumble dry some dress shirts but not others?

When I tumble dry a non-iron Brooks Brothers or a Charles Tyrwhitt shirt, they come out just fine. When I accidentally tumble dried a TM Lewin shirt (John Francomb Classic), it came out with ripples on the placket, cuffs, and underneath the collar. The TM Lewin shirt was non-fused. Does this...

How slim are the Paul Fredrick trim fit shirts?

I'm 5'9" and 165 pounds. I find the BB slim fit to be a little too big in the waist and chest. Would a Paul Fredrick trim fit be about the same?

Ask A Question, Get An Answer... - Post All Quick Questions Here (Classic menswear)

That's a pretty rare occurrence with a 100% cotton shirt. If it shrank to the point of no longer fitting properly, it's effectively ruined for you. Did it? Beyond that, if it has "ripples," have you tried a steam iron? Oh yeah, I ironed out the ripples. I scorched the collar slightly. How do I...

Did you tumble dry it in high heat or no heat? What type of fabric is it? It's cotton, and I used heat, although I don't know if you'd call it high heat.

What's exactly are you asking? Did I irreparably damage the shirt by tumble drying it?

Ask A Question, Get An Answer... - Post All Quick Questions Here (Classic menswear)

The only problem I see is that it may have shrunk a little...after washing on delicate, I put mine in the dryer on air tumble/no heat to get the water out and then hang dry. Then what's all this business about how tumble drying ruins shirts?

The tag says "do not tumble dry," but I didn't notice it until I took the shirt out of the drier. The fabric has ripples throughout. Is the shirt now going to tear or something while I'm wearing it?

Please critique BB Extra-slim fit shirt on me (Added new pics)

I'm 5'9" and 158-160 pounds and wear a 15.5/33. The BB non-iron extra slim fit was so tight in my chest that I thought it would tear. The shirts need to be treated with Lastol so they will stretch.

Budget Jermyn Street Shirt Shootout: CT vs TM Lewin

The TML non-iron shirts have very stiff fused collars and cuffs. I found these uncomfortable. On the other hand, they were truly wrinkle-free. The CT non-iron shirts have softer collars and cuffs, but the shirts are definitely not non-iron, especially in the elbows and mid-back, where a shirt...

Is the Thomas Pink Traveller shirt comfortable?

It seems a lot of non-iron shirts have fused collars and are stiff as can be. But the Traveller sure looks cool.

Do dark brown shoes go with a dark navy blue suit?

I have a navy blue suit that almost looks black. My brown shoes are quite dark. I was thinking about wearing an orange tie and white shirt with all of it. I thought the dark brown shoes would compliment the orange tie pretty well. Now I'm being told that the only kind of brown shoe that...

Anyone know why TM Lewin now has fused collars?

The new TML non-iron shirts all have fused collars and cuffs. Yet the unfused collar has traditionally been one of TML's selling points. So why are they now using fused collars and cuffs for their non-iron shirts? Speaking of which, are all unfused collars necessarily soft? Does Brooks...

How long does it take for Charles Tyrwhitt shirts to go on sale?

I see they're previewing their spring merchandise. The shirts are $139-$159 - way overpriced. Does anyone know how long it would take for these shirts to go down to $60 or whatever the typical CT markdown is?

Are my jacket sleeves too short if I can almost see my cufflinks?

No, I don't unbutton my sleeves. Why would someone do that, by the way? Kraken is correct that it would be a matter of personal preference. But IMO if the pic is an accurate reflection then I would say the sleeves are a bit short. BTW, you don't unbutton your sleeves do you? It looks tacky in...

Are my jacket sleeves too short if I can almost see my cufflinks?

Here's a pic I found on Google. The guy's sleeves look like mine.

Are my jacket sleeves too short if I can almost see my cufflinks?

You can see AT LEAST 1/2" of cuff underneath my jacket sleeves when my arms are hanging at my sides. Sometimes, my normal arm movements will definitely expose the cufflinks. Should I get my jacket sleeves lengthened? Is that even possible?

What's the maximum number of colors a person should wear?

Count those in a paisley tie then add some for other parts of your selection of clothes for the day.. Dumb question. I wouldn't wear a paisley, jerk.
