    What about Don Cherry ...

When I see these threads, I always hope they're going to be about this Don Cherry. I covet that sweater in the photo. +1. I'm thinking 'Hell yes!'

    RLBL DB suit critique

so you think that Black label is not for me ? . In a word, yes. No shame in that, it's not for me either. I think you really need broad shoulders and a large drop to wear them to best effect. Best bet is to look for suits in a different cut.

Black suits - what are they good for?

What I find even more appalling than black suits is the fact that someone with a postcount > 5k revived a year old thread in order to rant about black suits.

Can someone recommend me a dress shirt to wear under a V-neck sweater?

5" isn't long enough. Should really be more like 7", if you want it to stay in.

Made Clothing' MTM Suits, Shirts & Outerwear

I have to admit, I got a kick out of the 'Prince of Whales' fabric option.

    Thoughts on Loake 253?

I need a new pair of black dress shoes. I prefer a modern look, particularly plain toes, and am considering the Loake 253. The price of those is £96.59, or $150.51, including shipping. It would of course be expensive to return them, which makes these risky. I gather that Loakes aren't highly...

    cuffs or no cuffs

cuffs will make you look shorter when you want to elongate your frame. While I agree with you in theory, at 6' 210lbs, he's not really in any danger of being mistaken for a short, small man. Plus, c'mon, that suit is just crying out for cuffs.

    Since you're in Canada....cuffs.

Where can I find decent slacks?

I've given up on the idea of finding perfect fitting dress pants, and am resigned to the fact most pants I buy will need some amount of alterations at the tailors. Fortunately, altering pants is pretty easy and not that expensive. I agree with the idea of trying on a bunch of different brands...

Windowpane suit, flat front pants... cuffs or no cuffs?

I'm looking at a charcoal suit with a white windowpane pattern, classic appearance. The trousers are flat front. I know "Da Rules" say that means no cuff. But I was under the impression that windowpanes and pinstripes call for cuffs. Am I wrong? If not, what should I do, cuffs or no cuffs? Or is...

    The OneSock: Thoughts?

The only choice here is clear: Red. Bright red. While you are likely joking, I think burgundy would seriously go with almost everything (maybe not chocolate brown).

What's worse? Short Sleeves or Ex LG Bulky Pea Coat

I'm definitely sure that BR doesn't have a Long/Tall version. They do, you have to order through the website.

Ask A Question, Get An Answer... - Post All Quick Questions Here (Classic menswear)

Does anyone know where I can get a shawl collar pullover in a tan color and for around $100? I've looked at ralph lauren, j.crew, lands end canvas nobod has what I'm looking for. Ralph lauren does but its close to $200 and I can't spend that much on a sweater right now. Something like this...

Good tie for pink shirt? (pics of shirt included)

Oy. I think the pairing of that shirt with a black suit creates a sartorial vortex from which there is no escape. I don't hate either the shirt or black suits (dare I say it, I own one and wear it, albeit in a specific non-business capacity), but the two together just seems tacky. I think the...

Where to buy suit in Los Angeles/Santa Monica

Another option might be to meet up with the Thick as Thieves guys and have them make you a suit. I say 'might', because I don't know how appropriate their suits are for the big 4 accounting world. You'd get a decent slim fit suit at a decent price (~$500), though.

Shave or save the goatee, that is the question.

1996 called and wants its goatee back. Hey dude, 1999 called and it wants its goatee back. 1993 called and says that if you give your goatee to either 1996 or 1999, it'll kick your ass.

    Best Suits under $500

Another place to looks is www.sierratradingpost.com. They have some Arnold Brandt and Jack Victor suits which look like good deals at their current prices. I don't have any experience with those suits, but STP's return policy is supposed to be quite good if they don't work out. I have a...
