    Best (and First) Brown Dress Shoe

    Brown is fine, but personally I'd get a burgundy shoe before a brown shoe. I find the burgundy to be more versatile, especially in a conservative environment. If you can afford the price hit you could get something in a cordovan shell (color 8) or go with a burgundy calf.

    I'm deciding between 2 alden shoes in cordovan, color 8 .... the Long Wing Blucher or the Plain Toe Blucher . I'll normally wear them with business-casual attire (sport coat, etc.) but would like to be able to wear them with a suit (grey and/or charcoal)... would either work with a suit...

     an additional thing to consider is if you want back pockets... I never used them so I dropped them from my bespoke suits. As for the jacket, you might want to think about how you want your cuffs (sham, working, a mix). Also, with the pockets, think about which pockets you want/use inside...
